Would like your input please!!!!!

Every month the Florida Racing Media choose a “Driver of the Month”. Jeff Choquette won the first award for January and Shane Williams won for February.
Please let us know who you think should be awarded for March and why…
Thank you for your input…

Buzzie Reutimann. Need I say more? billy

Surely you jest. The answer is clear - Boneman.

Eerrr, ok? Would that be on the strength of my fine second place finish in a 7 car race? Or maybe because of my 4 BIG WINS at the go-kart track. JT, you are a sick, sick dude.

In all seriousness, I suggest VSP driver Travis Staats. He is the defending mini stock champion. Two weeks ago he raced door to door with his dad Charlie for the win. Dad won by a few feet, but Travis came back to win last Saturday.

Yes that was a good race between him and his Dad…I agree my vote is for Travis Staats :ernaehrung004:

My vote goes for Ivedent Lloyd, March 1st he won the race at Golden Isles, and A tough win at Hendry County.

Didn’t Roger Crouse win at Ocala this past Friday and at Volusia on Saturday? Not a bad weekend!

I want to double up my nominations. Tim Russell driver of the month.

David Rogers…driver of the century.

I moved from my native fla in 04 and returned for a year in 06 working in Tampa. I’m back in NC now but over the years i could not count the number of races i’ve seen Rogers in. I currently bench race and complain on message boards. I have a sportsman car on jackstands (on hold) until i can fatten my wallet back up a little. I raced orlando (enduro) Ocala (sportsman, streetstock, hobby stock) Citrus (sportsman, hobbystock) Bronson “used to be” hobbystock, sportsman… probably about 16 yrs ago at bronson. Want to get back in so bad i can’t stand it but i have had to budget to benefit my family before i can go back and play. It’ll be soon i hope.

Benny

well i hope you get back racing soon. alot of people have had to give up their funtime because of the economy… it will get better.
i think Dave is an awesome driver and also a great guy. i have known dave for several years and he is a gentleman for sure. ive had to give up alot of traveling so im not seeing the SLM drivers unless they come to CCMP… sure do miss them! i cant wait to get back in the swing of things.
sooooooo… good luck and keep the board alive (lol) and dont forget to listen to our internet radio shows. We have awesome guests !! all the shows are archived so you can listen at your leisure. ciao

I think Maxx Bennett should be driver of the month he won the first 2 races at desoto and finished 2nd the last race.

I see only a few fans had any suggestions on this Driver of the Month Award deal.

What would it take to get your attention if you were (or are) a driver?

We beat this horse to death years ago, but maybe there is still some breath left in it…drivers find it useful to have sponsors…sponsors like to be talked about…that’s one of the reasons they help drivers by giving them assistance to race… elementary, Dear Watson.

Real Racin USA has a weekly show that reaches a ton of racers, fans and yes, SPONSORS…It is called Inside Florida Racing. Anyone can be on it, as long as you can speak, and preferably English, though I am sure we can get an interpreter if need be.

If you have one little sponsor now and you promote that little sponsor real hard, such as on realracinusa.com 's INSIDE FLORIDA RACING show, maybe it will turn into a bigger sponsor.

Or maybe you will get noticed by more fans and others and you might be the INSIDE FLORIDA DRIVER OF THE MONTH.

Oh, “so what!” you say…

Well hold on to your hats, cause there is a monster coming down the track and we WILL get your attention…GUARANTEED!

Another monthly “spotlight”…

Maybe a track of the month.

March, it seems to me, was a tough month to have a “Driver of the Month”, as there were MANY rainouts, some tracks not open and/or up to speed with their season. It should get easier from here to pick an outstanding accomplishment.

In my opinion, the winner may not have had a great month, but had a real impressive accomplishment along the way. For example, I don’t care if AJ Curelli wins 3 features from the pole (nothing against AJ… this is just an example), but I’m highly impressed with Mike Bresnahan winning from 8th in his first dirt feature.

I don’t think “Driver of the Month” should be based on outright wins, nor a popularity contest either.

So, I guess I’m saying I vote for Mike!

too much bashing may-be

I think the problem is there would be too much bashing as in the pass when someone talked good" about a driver. I personally think Joey Catarelli has done very well in his racing. Between the Modified mini’s, figure 8’s(which I still can’t watch) and now the Southern Sportsman series. No one looks pass the LLM, or SuperLM or OWN’s. Let’s take a look back at the ones that are still out there and not getting notice. Remember the lil guy that still puts all his Monday thru Saturday mornings into racings. And as I quote"still a family sport" that was a good one…Just my two cents on the subject.
Hi Carol!!
Joanne

hi joanne… & all readers!

i guarantee you this is one of the hardest things we at RRUSA have ever attempted!!! the reason being we have to go to every track, every series, every class, every driver, and pick ONE! This is not just for SLM, LLM, or OWM…this is open to all racers… We take this very seriously and our main objective is to be fair.
At the end of the year there will be a driver of the year picked and let me tell you…IT WILL BE WORTH IT to some lucky driver.
Thank you for your input, and trust that we are really working very hard to promote all drivers, and all race tracks, and all the traveling series.
The one thing i really want to impress on everyone is that we do this for you…SO CALL US! if you want to be a guest on any of our shows, please call me at:
941-629-7451
if you see us at a track, ask for a sticker…
Thank you !!!

To all promotors,racers,fans and karnacians,
Ok, I want all you folks to understand just what we are asking from you. We want to recognize the driver that gets the most wins in a month. I know you all have your favorite drivers to nominate, but we need you to help us with who is winning at the track that you are attending. We can not cover all tracks and series as Carol said, so you are the ears and eyes. We will anounce our March winner tomorrow night as well as just what the award will be for the driver of the year. As for the month of April, only time will tell. Just keep posting who is winning this month and where they are racing. We want to recognize these drivers that race at multiple tracks on the same night and win, drivers that win every week, or drivers that win multiple big races in thier division. We also would like to have some more imput from the fans and drivers on our show " Inside Florida Racing ". For those who dont know we do live shows on this site almost everyday. We always are looking for the new up and coming talent, and we can only find it with your help. If you are a driver and want to be on our show email Carol and tell her you want to be on. If you see me(rob elting) or Ce Ce or Jack at the track tell us you want to be on the show. We can help you get your sponsors name on the air and maybe that will help you get more racing money!
Get a realracinusa sticker from one of us and fly the colors on your race car, you will have a better chance of winning the driver of the month if we see the sticker in the winners circle.
I want to thank all the drivers out there that are flying the colors now, our goal is to have a sticker on every racecar out there racing, even yours!
Thank you and stay tuned in and we will turn you on!
