[I][SIZE=“4”]Frank Fleming had a good weekend in the Whelen Southern Modified Series races at Ace and Caraway.
Fleming from Mt. Airy NC finished 9th at Ace and 3rd at Caraway.
“We could have run better at Ace but Gene (Pack) got into the back of me on the last lap and turned me around. It was my fault though as I didnt know he was that close.”
Fleming however has moved up to fourth place in the points chase.
“If everything goes our way we still have a shot at this thing. But its still early” he said.
The consistent finishes of Fleming makes him still much alive in the points battle and he has become one of the crowd favorites.
Fleming is one of the ones who will hang out until the end of the night to talk to race fans. In fact he talked well over a half hour to two fans that knew him “from way back when.” However Fleming must now be telling on his age.
And what were they talking about you ask?? “Well I like tinkering with old cars” he says with a grin.
And its more Frank Flemings that this series needs.
