Florida Sprints Mix It Up With The NHRA!!

(ya can’t make stuff like this up)

The Florida MiniSprints have taken leading positions in NHRA competition!! They made their debut at the North Florida Speedway Dragstrip this weekend, just south of Lake City Florida. Hailed as the First in his class, Walter Arnold in the #6 Alcohol Burning BEAST FROM HELL, roared across the finish line with an amazing 4.8 second time-slip for the quarter mile track! Seeking to expand their horizons, the Sprints historically have dominated the oval tracks on both dirt and asphalt.

“Foul!” cried many NHRA ennthusiasts. They’re claiming the weight-to-horsepower ratios of the Sprint cars give them an unfair advantage over the traditional funny car powerhouses. Too bad, replied the Sprint crews. The field is wide open and nothing in the regulations prevent a Sprint car from competing with the top-fuel eliminators. “If they feel that strongly about it,” a spokesman for the Sprint Car Association stated, “then they’re more than welcome to tow their funny cars to any of the standard 3/8 mile dirt tracks and we’ll mix it up.”

Regardless of the outcome, Saturday’s demonstration of lightning fast reflexes of the Sprint car driver on a quarter or half-mile asphalt straight-away will make them a force to contend with!
