I just got a phone call about some cars that were thrown off the track at auburndale because they had raced earlier at Charlotte then drove all the way back to a-dale were told it was ok by the race director then the track owner red flags the race and throws them off the track. Say it aint so!:fragend005::fragend005:
This story will be covered in detail on Inside Florida Racing Monday Night 7-9 PM…it is one of the most unusual racing news stories we have run across in the last several years. You may be shocked.
Also on tap Tanya Moschell, General Manager from Volusia Speedway Park, will be a special guest…and you know what’s coming to Volusia…The Scott Thompson Memorial with a combination of dirt late models from the United Dirt Late Model Challenge Series, The National Late Model Series and the Volusia Dirt Late Models.
Other guests include Travis Wilson…Ken Kinney…Greg Roberts (bus driver injured at DeSoto) and the announcement of the Pandora Jewelers Driver of the Month for June 2008.
Calling on the Owner of Auburndale to comment.
Say it isn’t so!
Before I go off please allow the Track Owner from Auburndale to come on and please clarify what exactly happened. Because like race car driver’s/Owner’s I have gone from a rained out event in CCMP to go onward to Auburndale to see some racing (hardcore racer I guess) if this is a true statement I might just have spent my last dollar at that facility!
Some clarity and truth from the Owner of Auburndale would be appreciated.
Looks like someone namely the track promoter was having a bad day. Reading the story by Mr Shriver leaves me wondering what in the world is going on there.
Who is Mr. Shriver? And where would you find his story? Thanks.

The Auburndale track stopped using Karnac a few weeks ago. Carol Andrews stopped posting results on here, and Karnac’s Auburndale message board. So I don’t think she or Rex (ONE OF THE OWNERS) who did this will post anything on here.
:mad:You know it so sad that this situation has come to Auburndale, It just doesn’t make sense to treat those drivers like that, and they still came to their “HOME” track and supported it. I hope that the “OTHER” owners pull together and correct this mess.
I didn’t hear any of the drivers complaining that it was unfair to them to let 2 more cars come and start in the rear with the wrong set up (gears) in their cars.
What story are you talking about? ( Mr. Shriver ) could you post the link in question.

Once again Rex Guy puts us all in amazment. Great job guys, who needs more then 9 cars? If nothing else it would have made a better race for the fans.
Mr. GUY Takes Home Track Personal!!!
As I said I would wait and sir no more dollars out of my pocket to will go to support a track THAT DOESNT support racers. You had 2 racers drag their ass’s up the interstate to come and race at your track which their home track and YOU think it’s because of YOUR BOUNTIFUL PURSE!! They love racing not that purse you fool!!! By the way what was your purse … please post it becuase with all the bads news on T.V. I need a good laugh!!
I could see if other drivers didn’t want them to start from the rear but you allowed them to sign-in. TAKE THEIR MONEY. unload and even take the stinking track… (HELLO… Alex i’ll take who’s signed in my pit area for $200 dollars please…) Why let them into the pit area. Unload. Suit up.
Why not stop them before going onto the track. The scorer has the line up right. You have pit steward/official that run your pits right…
Hell if I get beat fair and square by a guy that just ran 2 hours away and then came there and whooped me I should go home and do my homework.
As low as the car counts are in todays economy you really know how to get the cars off the jackstands and onto the track (managing a track 101).
I see you must have attended Don Nerone’s Track management seminar.
You should just admit your drivers went somewehere else and you were pissed and were going to show them who’s boss.
Well CONGRATS You showed them me and alot of people what and who you are.
The sad part is plainly you are willing to take Money out the THEIR pockets for them to enter your facility but yet wont allow them to race for fear of taking money out of other racers pockets!!! HHHHMMMM!! HIPPOCRITICAL TO SAY THE LEAST!!!
PEOPLE OF FLORIDA I RECOMMEND MR. REX GUY AS THE ANTI-RACERS PROMOTER OF THE YEAR.
TO THE 2 RACERS I PERSONALLY WILL PURCHASE A SET OF TIRES (2) WHEN I’M BACK IN TOWN FOR EACH CAR!!
All you have to do IS go to the front page of Karnac.
All you have to do is be a smart A$$
As a promoter, with a whopping 9 cars in my field, I think I would be happy to get two more late entries…
Last week, most everyone seemed to view the new Auburndale management in a positive light. The track was back from the brink, the show was better, the car count improved, etc. The news was pretty rosey until this single incident. Is everyone going to allow one mistake to change their entire outlook?
As an observer, it appears to me that someone made a bad call. That happens to some extent at every track, and in every business for that matter. A good manager will do what they need to correct it. Why not give Mr. Guy a chance to explain himself and possibly even set things right with the drivers involved?
The positive side is that eagletai is not coming back, yet claims to be buying 4 tires. Oh yeah, I believe that.
It seems as if this is one huge first mistake and I would sincerely hope that this is clarified and made right very soon… In the story that was published it was written that there were statements that were contrary to each other in this… (i.e. supporting regulars and the two drivers happen to be regular drivers…)
One little point that may sound very silly, but Racers do use this website and it might be beneficial if the Auburndale Track would use and support this website as it will help them in there tenure at the track…
Have a great day all…
You call that a mistake? I call that total crap, and a slap in the face to all drivers. Here they spent a lot of extra money and gas trying to hurry to the track just to race. I miss the days where something like that was rewarded! They should be refunded all the money that the track took from them at the entrance, and given a personal apology by the owner in front of everyone at the next drivers meeting. That has to be one of the dumbest PR moves I have ever heard of from a track owner. They should have handled that totally opposite by announcing over the P.A. system that they both ran earlier at CCMP and decided to make the long haul to be there at Auberndale to race. That would excite the crowd and show the drivers who made an extra effort to be there respect…
