SCOTT LAGASSE JR TAKES TO THE ROAD
Talented ARCA and Nascar Truck racer, Scott Lagasse Jr. is set to take on a new challenge in a diverse racing career when he takes to the Rolex 24 hour course at Daytona International Speedway August 9th and 10th. Lagasse Jr will be wheeling the NICHOLSON GROUP V8 GTA stock car in the V8 StockCar Road Racing “Mo’s Gold Twins” points race at an event sanctioned and presented by the Central Florida Region SCCA.
Scott Jr, an unquestioned “chip off the old block” of father Scott Sr, the former SCCA Trans Am star turned Nascar Truck racer, has shown considerable talent and determination since beginning racing in motocross at age 7. Scott has progressed through karts to short track modifieds, sportsman’s, and late models, winning in all along the way.
In 2007, Scott Jr. had a big win in the ARCA race at Kansas to go along with other top five performances. 2008 saw Lagasse move to the Nascar Truck series with a small team, however the underfunded operation was not able to garner the continuing support and the effort was disbanded.
While he looks for the next opportunity, young Lagasse wanted to get some road racing experience and fill out that racing resume and looked to the Florida based V8 StockCar series for some action.
Lagasse will compete on the track with more than forty road racing stock cars and GT types. Some top flight competition will be on hand to challenge the 26 year old graduate of Flagler College, including; Jay Marshall, 2007 V8 StockCar V8 GTA class champ in his Mike Cope Racing prepared Monte Carlo, 2008 points leader Tony Amico in his Jimmy Cope prepared racer, Sebring winner, Tom “Hollywood” Graham, Sebring track record holder George Lutich and California hot shoe, Rudy Revak.
The V8 StockCar series is a ten weekend road racing series that competes on some of North America’s finest road courses such as Sebring, Road Atlanta, VIR, Daytona and others.
Saturday evening at OUTBACK DAYTONA, the racers, crew, fans, workers, family and friends will bench race at a social hosted by OUTBACK and MO’S GOLD, the official polish of the V8 StockCar series.
