High-Banked Asphalt Corners...

On the BMX Track in the Beijing Olympics.

First year that sport has been introduced the the Olympics, the
course is dirt, hills and all, except for the tightly wound, progressively-banked asphalt
turns that the competition had to negotiate. They were seemingly banked really steep.

I didn’t know that this high-banked asphalt corner thing scenario was a standard, or only manufactured for this big Event.
Watching the BMX Bikes sail around those high-banks looked pretty cool. Each one took a different line around.

And the wipeouts that followed; no sheet metal damage, maybe a skinned knee, nose or elbow. Doing the lip-skid on asphalt has got to hurt.
Wonder if those machines got tech’d, or the riders(?) got tested for juicing.
