i want to keep these threads going because this years reunion is going to make the last one look small. the last one was awesome. it will be imbedded in the minds of all who attended for many many years. i have called at least 100 more people and they ALL said yes! they will be there… just to whet your appetites i am going to list some of them:
Jerry Dostie, Pete Hamilton, Ray Miller, Bill Wimble, Leo Cleary, hopefully if he is well Bugsy Stevens will be back, i called Carl Merrill and waiting for call back from Dan Brundage, Dave Lind (tire guy) Lew Boyd, Billy Harmon, George Summers, Ron Bouchard, Mike Louzier (sp), John McCarthy, Doug Heveron, …thats just a few of them…also called alot of our drivers such as Dickie Anderson, Dave Pletcher, Jimmy Harris and many many others. i am waiting for calls back from a few NASCAR people too…
if you think of anyone from back in the 60’s or 70’ please call them and invite them! Jerry and I are having a blast… i can hardly wait til February 13th… GOT THAT? FEBRUARY 13th! at New Smyrna Speedway!!!
OZZIE
I’ve done some updates on the website. Hopefully, we can start getting pictures of the cars and drivers that are on the way. What else should we put up?
Carol, would our dirt late models fit in? They aren’t Modifieds but it would be an oppurtunity for the fans to meet them, and for them to show case their sponsers. I’ll be with them tomorrow in Lake City. Bob
Bob… bring 'em on! The more, the merrier. The Vintage cars get some “Hot Laps” too, so have a few guys bring their cars, slap on the Asphalt tires and take a few laps. They will have to understand it is an exhibition, not a full-blown, go-as-fast-as-possible session. but I think it would look SWEET to see a Dirt LM, running right next to a '36 Coupe!
I fondly remember last years “exhibition”! That was the hardest fought vintage “hot lap” session I’ve ever seen. It was comlete with a few wall scrapes and a couple of ticked off drivers! Exhibition indeed!
Rex, would you mind if I tried and came up with some graphics for the Web site (title logo, graphic buttons, etc.)? I think I might be able to come up with some pretty cool stuff

I need to send you a LOT better picture of the Z8!!!
Jerry I’ll talk to some of them this week end and see if they would be interested. I’ll have to check our schedule for 2009 but I was thinking it would be cool to have some interviews on tape of a bunch of the old guys.
You think that’d go over? I was thinking of having some stills of the old days to put with each one. Theres all kinda things I could do. I can see how that could be a neat keep sake of the re-union. Just a thought. Bob…
Jimmy, it is fine with me if you want to come up with a logo or buttons. It is a simple site that I made very quickly.
I would like to order dash plaques for ALL who attend. Just get me a design and It is done.
New sketches
Did a coupla new sketches for T-shirt designs/plaques. Still working on possibly one or two more. Keep in mind, again, these are NOT the final copy
If we are voting, put me down for the second sketch. Both are cool, well done J-mac.
Loos good Jimmy. Do we want any names or lead-ins above Modified Reunion:
Like
Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck Present:
or
2nd annuel
or
Jerry Binner’s
or
Some Company presents
That’s up to y’all
Y’all tell me what you want on it, and I’ll work on it. Like I said, these are just rough drafts, nothing finalized just yet. I wanna do at least two more drafts, one with a coupe or coach, and one with maybe either a Gremlin, Pacer, or dirt car. It takes me a few hours to come up with something I like to draw, so it wouldn’t be too long before we pick one and I can get it finalized. It takes me longer on the computer to color in the car and get the look I want. Like I said, I’m no pro at this stuff; I’d just like to help y’all.
Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck Present:
Y’know, it’s funny you say that, because I work for the Mouse down here…LOL
Jimmy, You some good work son. The color one is awesome. I was just thinking George, Is it too expensive to have a couple of different designs?
I suppose you’d have the art work for each. Bob…
Thanks, Bob. I’m trying to work on a coach/coupe version, but can’t get the look I want.
I’m trying to get to www.thevintageracer.com but it keeps timing out. Does anyone know any more about that site? (EDIT: Check that. It seems to working now.) I’m also using 3 Wide’s as some inspiration as well. Lots of great cars there, too!
Update…
Just an update on why I haven’t been on here to give y’all some more options…
Been having issues with the ex-girlfriend, and she’s done something to my computer while I wasn’t home :fragend005: I can’t scan or upload anything til I get the thing going again, and not sure how long that’ll take, but hopefully not too much longer.
I hope to have one or two more designs, and then y’all can pick the one or two y’all want. I’ll then finalize 'em and get 'em finished up.
Mark, I need to get in touch with you and see what all you’d like for me to get done for you.
May I soggest using Buggsy #15 or the Len Boller #3. Classic cars from back then. The Judkins 2x is another car.
I think we may be picking up a few more big names shortly…
Frankie Schneider and Bob Malzahn. Spoke to frankie’s daughter the other day, and she’s almost positive that’s the week Frankie will be in town, and he supposedly loves these kind of events. Bob Malzahn lives in the South Daytona area, and he will be getting an invitation this week.
Also met a real cool guy named Ron Wilson, who raced at Thompson, Stafford, Seekonk and other tracks in the 60’s. He will be attending, and was very pumped about the whole idea.
