David and the entire Reutimann family raced at Eastbay and not one single word on this board… what the heck is happening to you guys! THAT’S BIG !!!
i see petty stupid B.S. on this board everyday and something this awesome happens and not a word. Buzzie Reutimann is one of the best racers on this planet!!! David is a NASCAR racer who came up from our short tracks !!! AND… they raced against each other…
someone better get on here and give us a report or i am gonna think we have a bunch of people on here who just like to cry, whine, or drink from the cup of negativity!!!

Amen!!! billy
Have to agree with you Carol. I didn’t know about this race until it was too late for me to go. Wish I had heard sooner.
Let’s see, isn’t East Bay, dirt? That may be the reason. I went to NFS last night and had to park darn close to Columbia Motorsports Park because of all the fans and crews. Did you see anything on here about that?
It was on Karnac fSCR on the right side all week , also EASTBAYS web site advertised it. I posted 1st and 2nd place results about 12 .10 last night.Buzzie and David were racing wheel to wheel the last 10 laps or so. Mathews and Dixon were close the entire race with some lead changes.
It ain’t THAT big…
Frassy…
i get really excited knowing a man like Buzzy Reutimann can still win races !!! Buzzie and Jack Duffy are ICONS!!! they are incredible drivers and incredible people. At least 3 generations of fans have had the pleasure of watching both of these men…
it is THAT good to have Buzzie and David on the same track… nowadays everything we can do to promote special events is so important. tracks are suffering and with PROPER promotion, events such as this one draw people to the stands…the opportunities for NASCAR drivers to mingle with fans and show up at local short tracks are few… david could have gone on a fun relaxing vacation, but he chose to race for the fans at Eastbay… KUDOS DAVID !!!
we have to make racing THAT good. make it appealing… something is wrong when we no longer think watching a NASCAR racer race against his famous father isnt “that” good… i sure wish it could have been at CCMP…
am i really being overly sensitive? oh well. i cant help being passionate about the Reutimanns… to me they are REALLY special… i look in magazines ive been carrying all over the country since the early 60’s and there are more pics of Buzzie than anyone…and here we are… still taking his pics at races!!!
besides it is just another of this old ladies opinions… hahaha you know how i get… lol

F118, to some people it might not be that big a deal, but the way the Reuitmanns conduct themselves on and off the track, in my opinion makes them something very special, and the fact that Buzzie is a year older than I am and is still winning is also special. I never had the pleasure to race against Buzzie, but to me that would have been the ultimate highlight of my short stint in racing. To me, HBO should do a special on the Reuitmanns instead of like they did at Anderson Speedway, by portraying racers as ignorant, cussing, fighting, pieces of humanity barely hanging onto life. The Reutimanns are the ultimate in class. I’ve followed Buzzie and Wayne’s careers since they started racing and believe me, it would make a great story. These are just my opinions. billy
Now Come On OZ.
When you say “david could have gone on a fun relaxing vacation, but he chose to race for the fans at Eastbay…” I think you are WAY off base… David would feel more like he is being punished if he couldn’t race when there is an opportunity… he didn’t CHOSE to race for the fans at EB… he raced because he is a true red blooded RACER… he and his Dad along with thousand of other drivers race for simple fact they would rather do that than most everything else (including a fun vacation). There is no doubt in my mind David would be super unhappy “On Vacation” when he could be racing (has nothing to do with “Racing for the fans”.
David would race in bath tub race if nothing esle was happening.
Other than that one statement… you just keep being an sensitive old lady.

My post had nothing to do with the character of the Reutimann family. They are one of the finest families that Auto Racing, as a whole, has ever seen.
I guess my opinion is this: If you want to see Buzzie race, you can see him nearly every weekend at East Bay… it’s not like he came out of a long retirement to be at this event.
If you want to see David race, again you could see him every weekend if you wanted to (3 Cup races a year in Florida alone, plus the Busch series races).
When I go to the local races, I go to see the LOCAL heroes, not National ones. If there’s a big name in the field… great! If there’s not, who cares?
I guess most people get a bit star-struck, and I’ve never really been one to fall in for that stuff. To me, as great and as nice as the Reutimanns are, they are RACERS, not celebrities.
Frass…
you of all people … i thought you were all about the pioneers of racing… well Buzzie is one of them. the only difference between Buzz and some of our guys at the reunion is that Buzz is still racing.
you are right. it wasnt a post about character. in fact mine wasnt really ABOUT the reutimanns. it was about how people can find so much time to post BS and not one single line about a very special man racing a special race with his son! Not a word was said about the results of the race Jerry… that is what i was talking about.
OZ
Billy: you said it all… i could not agree more. thanx !
i see petty stupid B.S. on this board everyday and something this awesome happens and not a word.
you need to be giving the dirt track fans and track employees hell, not us.
aside from Hendry county, i really don’t see much dirt track chatter on here.
Byw
Eastbay has crate latemodel national dec 14.The track is hoping Schrader comes. that’s a typo supposed to be BTW…
hey gary…
thank you… if you hear more, please let us know… Ken is a huge crowd pleaser… i dont think i know anyone who doesnt like him… he used to come to CCS years ago… would love to see him come back to our track.
