Political correct

It isn’t always good. I think it is bad for the health sometimes. Everyone has there opinion. Some you may like, and some you may not. I have worked for years in this sport in the South and up North. Many times people have taken shots at me on a board in the North. Guy who ran board used to call and say he would take it down. I would say no. If I was dumb enough to go on a board and voice what I thought then I knew that there would be feedback against it. That is what I feel is great. Not everyone will like you and agree with you. Some good does come from it. It has become funny on these boards lately how some can attack in ways and it stays up and is ok. Others get deleted and get banned. Like I told the guy in the north, “your board your rules”. As I see all the post below calling for a ban to be lifted I have to ask. Why was he banned? Not that I deserve an answer. My opinion is this, if you want to be a PC board then you have picked the wrong hobby to do it in. As you see many people are calling for the ban lift. In todays world people don’t want more cencorship or political correctness. The want opinions and what real people think. If it causes a debate or anything else believe it or not that is healthy. Some good points do come out. So to the powers to be on this board, why are you becoming so political correct with just some people?

The Jay Middleton post is why OJ is gone. I was doing backflips in my chair while reading the announcement but made no reply to that thread…i knew better. It’s like this…you go to someone’s house and call their prize purebred poodle a mutt… your gone. POOF!

Dang…this may very well get me ax’d.

Message boards…

my post is in no way addressing the “OSMOSIS” posts. These message boards are owned by people. they pay for them and some make a living by them…this one is Jack Smiths. That means Jack can do ANYTHING he pleases with it. Sometimes i dont agree with deletions. in fact, the only ones i think should be deleted are the ones that really hurt peoples reputations. There was a time when NOTHING was deleted.
I was new on the board and had a tiff with someone at a track. for a year i was called everything from a-ho to plain old ho… actually most of the crap was written by people who just came on the board to “have fun”…i doubt they even had anything to do with racing… (some of them  ) it hurt me more than anyone could know and people who didnt know me hid their husbands! it was horrid but i made it a point to go to every track and meet everyone i could. people started coming to me and introducing themselves. it took me a couple of years to erase the image they had of me because of this board. i was in my 50’s and a widow and i worked very hard trying to promote short track racing. i did NOT deserve to be hurt that way.
the same thing happened to Jack! finally Karnac tried to stop the trash… i have heard people come on here and trash Jack!!! now that takes b___s to trash someone in their own domain!
to cut this shorter…i think its ok to complain or to try and help but it is NEVER ok to make someone look stupid or feel degraded. i am glad those posts are deleted. I am NOT a moderator and never will be … it is up to the discretion of the site owner so all we can do is LIVE WITH IT or just dont use the board.
99% of the time we act responsible because in spite of a couple of people most of the posts are helpful and good… this site is so much more than a message board. everything you want to know about anything on wheels that race is written about in the stories on the “Home” pages. Everything you want to hear is mentioned on the radio shoes!!! EVEN KARTS now.
so … it’s simple. Respect people…
got to go racin now. have a wonderful day…

My point is this: forgive what happened in the past. Assume that whoever screwed up, on either side of the board, learned a little and won’t do it again. This is not a life or death situation, so why would the death penalty be given out if someone messes up?

My buddy Carol has been on the receiving end of more board abuse than anyone I know. She is a sweet person with a good sense of humor, and she has opinions! I’m not advocating a wild west style, anything goes board. Read my original post: “if someone gets too nasty, then out they go.”

We need the life on this board as the new season approaches.

I’m glad Jack is starting to delete some of this stuff also.

Karnac should be about R-A-C-I-N-G.

It’s like Carol says… Respect people. And keep it about the R-A-C-I-N-G.

Carol, you are correct. This is Jack’s sandbox and we are playing in it. He can tell us to get out at anytime. I also go and play in some other people’s sandboxes as well, and they can do the same. But when someone gets miffed at something and sends someone home, it is a good idea to consider how popular that person is BEFORE you send them packing. Sometimes the kid you send home might take a few more of your friends with him. That doesn’t change the fact that its still Jack’s sandbox, and Jack has the right to determine who can play and who can’t.

Now I’m going to be brutally honest. A while back a group of instigators managed to drive a huge wedge into the Florida racing community and declared this site to be the mother of all evils. A lot of bad blood came from that time, and a lot of people got banned from this site and others. Today the instigators that created that mess are recognized for what they are and are largely ignored, and Jack is attempting to woo back a lot of the folks (mostly from the dirt racing community) that were alienated during that time for taking sides. Some of those people have attempted to come back and have found that bans issued over the old Copynac mess are still effective. Is history repeating itself? Maybe, and maybe not. Jack makes the rules, but I believe he needs to carefully consider who he bans and for what before he makes another costly mistake that he might later need to undo. Just my honest opinion.

Let me add something here. Carol I am sorry that happened. That is wrong and should not be allowed. I am talking about racing. Not getting that personal.

maybe these people who are banned should contact jack if they want back.

Political correctness is never good in my humble opinion!
