RaceTalkRadio and the Big Stick Racing Network are teaming up to bring fans unprecedented coverage of SPEEDFEST 2009 from Lanier National Speedway this weekend, featuring the CRA Super Series Super Late Models and the GAS Series Pro Late Models.
Live coverage begins on Friday for a special pre-race show with the highlight of the weekend with the races on Sunday. Some of the biggest names in short track racing will be racing this weekend at Lanier and you can hear it all live on RaceTalkRadio.com.
Justin Drawdy, Johanna Long, Jeremy Colangelo and Drew Brannon are the Florida contingent leading a list of almost 40 drivers entered for the 5th annual event, won last year by Jeff Choquette.
The event has a distinct NASCAR Cup flavor as Kyle Busch will return to the event for the second straight year. David Stremme has entered a car for a development driver and legend Bill Elliott will serve as the Grand Marshall for the event.
The full entry list looks like a “Who’s Who” of short track racing: two-time Snowball Derby winner Augie Grill, 2008 CRA Super Series champion Scott Hantz, 2008 Southern Slam 250 winner Justin Drawdy, 2008 PASS North Rookie of the Year D.J Shaw, PASS Series Standout Ben Rowe, former ASA Late Model champion Brian Campbell, 2008 Blizzard Series Super Late Model champion Josh Hamner, 2008 ASA North Champion Eddie Hoffman and many many more. 34 entries are the list currently posted, with 4 more having come in since that posting.
