Just caught this in Sundays paper, Bruce C. Mcgonigal, Sr., 72, Sanford, Fla. passed away. He raced a sportman car at New Smyrna Speedway, and Orlando Speedworld. His son Bruce Jr. still fields a super-stock, and sponsors several others, I think.
Bruce McGonigal was my employer for a short while back in 1987. My condolences to the family.
Thats a damn shame, he was one of the nicest guys out there.
I’ve been friends with the McGonigal family for over 28 years now. His son Patrick called with the news, but his phone cut off in mid-sentence, and hasn’t got back in touch yet.
Best Wishes for the entire family. Bruce was a good, hard working man, who never learned how to slow down. The world needs more like him!
Bruce was one of the nicest racers you would ever meet. My heart and prayers go out to his family and his son Bruce. I am so sorry to hear this. If nothing else, you could count on Bruce being at thet rack and always smiling. I will definitely miss him when I am at New Smyrna and if there is anything the family needs, count on me.
Bruce you will be missed and not forgotten. Rest in peace my dear friend.
Jane
A great man
Bruce was always one of my favorite people to stop and chat with at the track. Definately one of the nicest persons I have ever met. My wife and I will greatly miss him.
