As of today, I will no longer be working for Orlando SpeedWorld. I will be there next Friday to pick up my things which I have there but I would like to thank all the drivers and their crews for 7 wonderful years of memories. I love you all and wish you all the best. I will truly miss all of you every Friday night but due to circumstances beyond my control, Orlando needs to cut back on personnel and I completely understand. I hope to see you from time to time but please always know you are in my heart forever.
Thank you for all the wonderful memories and have a wonderful 2009.
Well that blows, with the economy the way it is I can certainly understand their position, but this is a horrible time to get laid off. Good luck and thank you for all that you have done.
The way these new tax plans look, we might be better off if we were all out of work.
Good luck Jane, sorry I didnt get to say hi at the go kart track, was too busy winning or wrecking.
Remember the old days when you hung out in the stands with a group of buddys and took notes so you could write the news story? That was a bunch of fun, maybe you can get back to that. Hey, you couldn’t see the races from the office anyway!
Where ever you land, I wish you the best of luck, and hope you won’t be a stranger!
Thanks guys. I am trying something different this Saturday and will let you know how it goes but I am not leaving racing only Orlando and New Smyrna. Remember my first love was always writing and it is something I love and I have always believed the drivers at any track deserved to have their names in lights always. I have made many wonderful friends and I am well known now in the media circles that are needed for racing so maybe it is time to get back to my roots and do what I love. But I will let you know.
well i know where you got that gift from (dad)… maybe you can get out more and spend time with the drivers. i know you would love to do that …
good luck Jane and i hope life will be good to you. racing has alot to thank you for.
God bless…

Jane, I wish you the best in luck in whatever you may be doing. You will be missed very much by all. If I don’t make it next Friday to see you, please know that you mean a lot to me and my family. Big hug!!!
Thanks Todd but I was not asked to write for FASCAR. Dave will do the Friday night story and I guess Mark will write the Saturday night story but I am not positive on that one. Robert did say he may sometime want me to come and write for karnac but since that was my only job, I can’t afford not to work and will need to get paid for my writing. But I will truly miss you and your dad. I have enjoyed knowing you and your sense of humor and that smile that could choke a horse.
I am just hoping that Bill Posey is right and when one door shuts, another one opens to even bigger and better things. Believe you me, this family needs that since my oldest son was laid off last week and me this week. He worked for City Electric for 5 years and was the Store Manager at the Rockledge store and they told him at noon Thursday that his job was no longer affordable. That they had to cut expenses like SpeedWorld or if business did not pick up by the end of the year, it may be another one of those companies going under. My son was in total shock and still is just as I was yesterday. But you can’t fight the economy right now and somehow you must go with the flow and I am going to try and do that even if it means learning something new about racing.
I am not leaving racing only Orlando and New Smyrna. But I am sure I will hear how things are going since I still have alot of friends at the track and Alex still wants to race sometimes since Doug has him a car and Pedie wants to help him. But we will see. But you behave yourself without me there.
Now Todd, you know that smile is something else and yes, it could choke a horse. You smile with your whole face which is always nice to see on people.
Anyway sweetie, I will miss you and your dad.
Ms.Jane did I hear Joe right last night?,I think I heard him announce you are now at Volusia…If so welcome and we’re glad and honored to have you there
Yes Denise, it was me there and I did write the story and have it posted on race results and the frontpage of karnac right now. Hopefully the budget will allow for a writer but I thoroughtly enjoyed myself last night and it was so nice to just do what I love to do and that is write. But I do hope to write more for Volusia in the future. But I had a ball and learned that writing dirt is no different than asphalt, I just have to get to know the drivers better.
Jane, it is good to see you getting dirty! Welcome to the other side! LOL!
The dirt drivers are a terrific bunch, and they really appreciate the attention that a good article earns them. Racers thank me all the time for what I write, and I truly appreciate it. You will get those same thank yous too, and I have the feeling that pretty soon you will find yourself wondering why you didn’t do dirt sooner.
Thanks B.J. It was alot of fun last night and I really enjoyed it. And actually I did get a few thank you’s for what I have done in the past for racing, mainly of course, with karnac. It is hard to believe that I have been writing for almost 14 years now and most all of it for asphalt and FASCAR but I do believe I could get use to dirt very easily and really enjoy it. I know I did last night. So hopefully I will be joining you and getting dirty as you say.
Jane
