Attn All Trucks "fastruck" Tour Series Race!!!!

The second points race for the “Fastruck Touring Series” will be Saturday April 11 at CCMP. We had a great turnout for the first race 23 trucks!! Lets see if we can beat that!! We should have another great race so lets get the word out and get as many of the guys to show up as possible. Sponsorship is the key for any series and we need to show everybody just how great a show we can put on for the fans!!! Call the track early to reserve your pit slabs as they will go fast. Any questions please e-mail me (colonelc1323@msn.com) or Ronnie Simms (mctimeron@aol.com) Lets get em out and GO RACING !!!

Do you mean like the great show we put on at the last race where the whole field was inverted? That worked out real well. Lota torn up trucks and an hour and 20 minutes to run about 25 laps before the track called it. A few years back FASTRUCK changed the rule from 1st & 2nd place from the previous race started 20th & 19th to 12th & 11th just to prevent trucks from getting torn up. I had no problem with 20th & 19th but thats only 2 trucks not everone. Bobby Deihl himself told me that whoevers idea it was to invert all the trucks “should be drawn and quartered”. When you finish 5th but need $800 worth of body parts from trucks that are 2 seconds slower a lap than the top 10 guys starting up front its a formula for trouble. Times are tough and all this did was cost guys money that no one needs to spend right now. We want to race more this year than the last 2 years but we can’t keep getting torn up buy bad decisions like on the ASA weekend. The whole field should have had a decision about the inversion. Some people have to work, fix and pay for the damage themselves not go to school and have daddy pay for it. Tim Shaffner #29

If you’re 2 seconds a lap quicker, who says you have to drive THROUGH other trucks? Isn’t racing suipposed to be about going AROUND other competitors? If you’re that much faster, and still can’t get to the front without acting like it’s a demo-derby, then learn something about patience!

It sounds more like a problem with lousy driving, than it does about lousy decisions by the track.

You’re blaming the wrong people for all the body work needed. Nobody in the tower has contol of the steering wheel or BOTH pedals in a racecar!

Like I said in a different post Jerry, you da man. Just getting ready to say the same thing and you beat me to it.

Holy Cow man ! What do you do when you start out front and catch lapped traffic ? Pull in behind and follow them so you don’t risk your bodywork .
Racing is about passing . Its what has to happen if you plan on winning .
If your quote from Bobby Diehl is accurate , now we know at least one track owner that didn’t pay any attention to Bonemans’ post about inverting the field .

Fastruck field inversion

I am responsible for the total inversion. We have done it many times before to put on a show for the fans and it works. Have you not run in a class that inverts the field by points? I hope the track owners and promoters will catch on. If the racers will race and use their heads this is the best formula for some really exciting races. Anyone that has raced with anything I’ve been associated with knows I may do anything. It is about the show. Thanks Ronnie:sport009:

Frasson118 you nailed again as usual. I’m from Ohio, like a lot of you know and I never heard so much crying about having to start in the back of a feature and passing cars to win. In a 35 lap or 50 lap race if you can’t pass a car and get to the front with-out tearing your car or truck up, you better go back to running Demo’s or Enduro’s. I know no one wants to damage their car or truck but it happens some times, thats racing and if you can’t handle that maybe try another sport, golfing or maybe tennis, they seem pretty safe. Guess you had to be there. Our driver that night drove AROUND and not THROUGH anyone. He is a 2 time Champion at Hialeah back when there were 30 cars every night and you had to start in the back every week because points. He is also a 2 time champion on dirt. I didn’t drive that night because I had a broken wrist but have won plenty FASTRUCK races and a Championship at Hialeah starting in the back every week with 30 cars. When you run well you expect to start in the back running the local class’s every week. This is a TRAVELING SERIES. Its when people race 3 wide and drive through the infield 3 trucks ahead of you and you get swept up in the carnage that results from that. Thats were we got ALL our damage. You dont just pound the fenders out on these trucks to fix them. They cost as much as a Late Model to fix. We have always had some sort of of inversion and I’m all for that. There are some drivers in the trucks that have very little or no time in them or racing at all. I just feel that the inversion of the whole field should have been discussed with ALL the drivers. They are trying to rebuild this class and claim to want the drivers input. I dont think torn up trucks are the best thing to do for truck count. Maybe I’m wrong but I dont think that there will be 23 trucks this sat. because of this.
