Big Names at First Petty Kart event

From HPK Shootout announcer Tommy King:
Some popular names turned out for the first Petty karting challenge. Craftsman Truck/Late Model Driver Chris Fontaine was in the house and did not dissapoint. Kory Abbott was there also, fresh off his “Legend Million” start. FASCAR racer Chad Pierce was also in attendance. Eduardo Marques of road racing fame was also there putting the Petty karts through the paces.
Fast qualifier out of 46 drivers was Robert Shavers who also made it to the main and finished 6th. The top gun putting on a kart racing clinic, goes hands down to Chris Gannon who went flag to flag in the main event. Chris received a trophy and a chance to come back to do the Richard Petty Driving Experience in a 600hp stockcar.
Best race of the night goes to Chris Fontaine and Thomas Rule. They raced side by side rubbing and gouging the whole way with Fontaine nosing Rule at the line by inches for the final transfer spot in one of the qualifying races.
I had a blast announcing and cannot wait till the next one on SEP 12. I hope everyone had fun!
