Eddies Race Was Originally Scheduled For 12-4-10. That Date Has Been Pushed Back To 12-11-10 A Week Later Than Originally Scheduled, After Speaking To So Many Of Eddies Friends And Fellow Racers The Previous Date Was A Conflict With The Snowball Derby. There Ewere So Many People That Helped Us At Last Years Race… Campe, Larson, Nasse, Cooper, Etc. Etc… Eddie Built And Wrenched On A Lot Of Those Cars. Eddie Just Didnt Build Modifieds, There Was Nothing That The Man Couldnt Repair Or Fabricate. We Hope That The New Date Will Help Make The 2nd Eddie Brann Memorial A Great Success.
Now it conflcts with the Charity Truck 200. I don’t have a dog in this fight, but speaking as a fan of both races I hope the truck race can be run on Sunday afternoon like last year.
In 2009, the weather caused the date change to Sunday, but in 2010 it may just be more successful if it doesn’t have to go head to head with Citrus.
Its almost 2 months away, there is still time to move it.
I am sorry to hear of the change and the now conflict. I do understand the snowball derby deal as we faced that as well the last couple years. Boneman it is just not as simple as changing it, I have spent money on printing for tickets, flyers and postcards advertisement to hand out at PRI show. I would be throwing that away to just move the race. Also having Sunday as a rain date is needed. If we were to set it for Sunday and had a rain problem it would require drivers hauling back the next weekend and that would certainly hurt as well. It is tough because I tried to set on a date when nothing was scheduled and there was no races scheduled, it worked well in that the PRI show was on that date as well. I knew and liked Eddie and certainly wish the race well, but I just feel it would be more costly to change the race to Sat and Sunday than to keep as is. I feel this could be the biggest year of fans yet if weather cooperates and we can get folks from the PRI event to come.
I wish Citrus and the race well and hope fans will support either of thier choice.
we need to be very careful …we dont want to turn people off from wanting to go to these events. this is one of the problems in florida. there will be times tracks have to schedule on top of each other. in this case we are talking about trucks vs OWM… the tracks are quite a distance from each other… i dont think it will hurt either track to have their event the same night.
also…
we seem to have a memorial race somewhere every single week… maybe we need to ask each track to have one huge memorial race for all the people who have passed away at their track… then we can celebrate the veteran racers who are still with us so they will get to enjoy our tribute to them. just a thought.
we cant keep changing dates. as Rick said, there are alot of committments and pre race plans involved. you cant imagine how hard it is to plan and carry out one of these races… rick has worked like crazy for his trucker event which will benefit 2 people who are in dire need of help… Tony has worked very hard to plan this race in memory of Eddie Brann… but the race isnt for Eddie… it is to help make sure his little girl has something put aside for her education and will be held in an account until she is of age.
they are both awesome events and i think both will do well.

The point was very simple, I will have to choose which event to participate. I am already committed to the truck race. There may be others in the same position. I will still buy some laps at the Eddie B race, just wish I would be able to participate.
i remember when i had to make some hard choices. now id be happy to be able to go anywhere! roflllllll.
I hope both tracks do well… they should.

Critter called me today to apologize that he rescheduled on our deal, he did not realize it until someone told him after, it is fine. We know some will have to choose, and e are ok either way those go. But we reviewed what we had racing and feel their is a draw for both, for some they can come Friday night to the Charity weekend and then go to the Citrus deal if they want to support that race and modifieds. Other can be at the Charity Truckers race. He is kind of forced by some of the folks that really support Eddies race being involved or going to the Snowball, we had that battle. If he goes later it is too close to Christmas. We wil look at next years deal. I plan to stay on the same date area, so we will try to make the other race work I have wished him well, and he has wished us well. We are happy to see cooperation and the working together announced for 2011 Between Auburndale, Citrus, Lake City, New Smyrna and Orlando. Some great steps taken, and we will get through this. We both simply ask you to do what you ave to do t try to support in some way both events. Thanks to all !
Geez, I can’t believe you two promoters actually discussed this over the phone. You know you have cheated a bunch of internet message board lurkers by taking this off the internet. There’s no entertainment value, to all of us, in a phone call between you two.
Seriously, it is good to see this resolved, if that’s the correct word, by a simple phone call. Best of luck to both of you.

Bob, i was laughing at myself so i dont cry. i have had a horrible yr. health wise and i try to laugh once in awhile. i damn sure wasnt laughing at someone elses pain. you dont even know me so… this just isnt worth it.
Ron Sr. and Jr. are going thru a life crisis. i have been communicating with Sr. all day and he has had the day from hell. after Jr.s surgery things took a turn for the worse. he had a serious reaction to the drugs they gave him and his kidneys and heart were in trouble. he has tubes helping him breath and he was trying to pull them out. do you possibly think i could laugh at that? you either support this family or go crawl back in your hole.
the rest of you, please keep praying because the Abney family needs us. they are all in crisis. God bless those who care.
BDBob… i was having a conversation with EZ. he knows what im saying. right now i am more concerned with the Abney and the Smith family. They are in life changing crisis.
i NEVER ever laugh at anyones pain! i was laughing at my own so i dont cry… but you wouldnt understand that!
