With the announcement of the nw late model series next year, one question that was asked several times in a previous post but not answered: Will there be a FAST series in 2011? I can’t find out yes or no.
I think they are running a few races in mall parking lots, and doing a demonstration during the intermission at Crash A Rama. Otherwise it looks like the pavement track owners have frozen them out.
I’m trying to poke fun at some tough business. It will be interesting to see if anything actually happens in 2011.
Well if you talk to the people that got screwed out of money or other prizes you will kind of find they won’t race with them anymore. I feel really bad for Alan B. he is a nice guy that got screwwed over by others invloved,

Wayne said at the final race that FAST had 8 races for 2011 already booked. This was before I heard any announcements from the other series going but its not that hard to schedule around the other series. As far as screwing people out of Money I’m not sure that is correct. I thought the FAST races were all in all pretty good. Hope to see them again in 2011.

As a reply to the question of FAST Races nextyear, it appears at this time there won’t be any. Although we thought are were told we had dates available at the tracks and then informed our racers of that, dramatic changes have taken place. Let it suffice to say that the track owners/promoters have decided they don’t need the FAST Series and are going to operate their own “deal” and do not want us to bring the FAST Series back to their facilities next year. This effort was spearheaded thru the year even as we were racing at their tracks. I wish them luck in their venture even if they did act with little regard towards FAST and the racers of Florida in general. Let’s hope it’s for racing and not just pockets.
Let me now clear up some of the rediculous things going around on the internet, race shops and supply house’s etc. FAST will have a “Party” as promised, will pay as promised (unlike some of the sponcers of FAST races), and give out awards again as promised. We all stand together on this! No one put more into Florida racing last year than Wayne Anderson and it is outrageous from those with little or no knowledge, or should I say brains, to accuse or insinuate any wrong doing on his part. He put in countless hours in the series and the attempt to bring Florida Racing back to what it once was.
We were sucessful in bring more cars,racers and fun back to the tracks. No one was ever shorted any money, time on the track,or opportunity as some have indicated. If so please come forward and let me know!
On behalf of Wayne, Dick, and our dedicated officials I would like to THANK all those who supported our efforts, showed up for the events weather on the track, in the pits or in the stands.

whether FAST worked or not, we have to give credit to the Andersons for their hard work and efforts to make racing more affordable & exciting for the racers.
whether you like them or not, Wayne and Dickie are 2 of the “TRUEST” real racers in this state… they didnt go into FAST looking for an income.
i think alot of people were turned off because wayne always wins…lol of course he wins… he works on his car every single week keeping it in top notch condition and has spent more hours on our race tracks than most babies spend in mommy’s arms. he is a hard driving pro and like i said… you dont have to like him but you do have to admire him…
it seems when someone tries to do something good for racing, racing turns its ugly head around in the form of a message board and does nothing but discourage! Pure jealousy…
i dont think the message board does a single thing to hurt or help racing. its way too small in comparison… it is entertainment and at times informative but it is the people who love the sport and the drivers that make them love it that make the difference. 
we all give opinions. but none of us own a track and most dont even race! so folks. take all this with a grain of salt. Wayne & Dickie really did try to make it work for the racers. oh and another thing…if wayne said he is going to pay…you can bank on it because wayne is an honest man! and dickie wouldnt know how to be a liar. people who lie, lie because of fear. i cant even see a wrinkle on Dickies face that shows fear but i can see plenty that can cause it! :grinser010: rofllllll.

Just for the record, I was/am a big fan of the FAST Series and what it was trying to accomplish. Although I don’t race, I did sit in the stands at about 1/2 of the FAST Series races, and was never disappointed… especially the first one at Citrus where Wayne took the challenge of starting in the back (along with Steve Dorer) and won the race from the rear without a scratch on it.
Sorry to see this series go, as it offered something different than what I think we’ll be seeing next year. I feel there is room for both, as there were different guys supporting the FAST Series than there will be in the new series.
By the way… any word on who IS following the new deal???
The only one I’ve heard about is Joe Winchell and the McCoy #64.

see now i can say what i think . Dick has been a true frend for years. Wayne and i dont see eye to eye but he like me is hard headed . Wayne will do what he says good or bad. He tried to do the best thing for racing and it didnt work out.

It gets tiresome to see people with good intentions make a lot of sacrifices to make racing better only to get screwed over by track owners.The people that got FAST off the ground this year deserve credit.I suggest that no drivers or fans support this series the tracks are trying to do.You may all start crying now that if we don’t support the tracks they will close but this game gets worse every year.
Agreed mocha2, these guys recognized a niche and built something to fill it. Yes, the rug got pulled out from under them, but I wouln’t count them out. Who knows if they will go another way, or what the future will be like for the united owners.

This was my thought, exactly, when I first heard about the tracks undercutting the FAST Series.
If the new series works among the track owners, we can all thank the FAST Series for their part in making it happen. Without their efforts in 2010, there’s no reason to think the track promoters ever would have come to the table, and developed their own deal for 2011.
I have no real inside information, but if the LM series works I would expect the owners to follow up with series for the sportsman, modifieds and who knows what else.
I do not see the FAST series as a failure at all…in fact on the contrary!! They did such a good job that it threatened some and they had to take action to stop the threat! I am sure that it was not a perfect series,( there are no perfect series) but you have to take your hat off to the Anderson’s and Bruns for taking the chance!

I would think that wayne has had enough of this bull. I rember when he was atacking me the same way and now its him.
He and his crew did a great job and it is hard to find people that will put up with all the bull . We all did it for the right reasons.
There will be a time when wayne can look back and laugh about all of this.
