What was your yearly race total?

So how many racing shows did you see this year? At how many different tracks? Here are my totals for 2010.

Total nights racing: 36 (a personal record)
I raced 4 different cars at a total of 4 tracks.

Cindy and I did every race night at Ocala, plus the majority of the season at Volusia. We also went to New Smyrna, North Florida, and did two nights at Orlando.

There is no way I could count the actual races… but aside from my usual New Smyrna and Orlando, this year I added the following tracks…

Columbia Motorsports Park
Citrus County (FAST Race)
South Alabama Speedway (1st time visiting - The Rattler)
Five Flags Speedway (1st time visiting - The Derby)

So my total for this year was only 6 tracks.

QUESTION: Can I count Daytona… They weren’t actually racing, but getting to see Danica up close in a firesuit gave me the same type of adrenaline rush! (well maybe not exactly the ‘same’ type… but you get my point!) :ernaehrung004:

ahem

Yep, I know about meeting Danica up close in her fire suit. The thing I was impressed with was her handshake when I told her good luck. Like small vise grips, but soft to the touch. She loves her fans too. Had her one on one with no mob there on pit road. Great conversation, till Rusty interupted it…LOL
-JIM-

let’s 1 night
way 2 many at pgs and 3 days at the FL sports park 4 swamp buggy racing

Best I can figure is 74.
31 at Ocala.
40 at Citrus. A whole year with 0 rainouts.
3 at East Bay.
Wanted to get to Volusia, NSS, and Orlando but couldn’t do it.

Let see, I went 4 times in 3 different tracks

2 at CCS Blast in the past, and reg. night

1 at NSS in Oct for Sprint Cars.

1 at Daytona International Speedway in Oct. for a tour around the track during repaving and took pictures taken at the Victory Lane.

You can buy a ticket at Daytona Speedway office to get to tour around the new paved track. Tickets cost $22. for 1 hour. $15. for 30min.

If you like an information. www.daytonainternationalspeedway.com:slight_smile:

As close as I can tell about 42 weeks at PGS and 3 At Citrus, 1 at NSS, 1 at OSW, = i whole lot of fun. Bob…

1 track 3 nights.

Not as many as I would have liked, but I made most of the big races at NSS. We made all 9 nights of the world series both nights of the gov. cup, and a few more. If they didn’t race only in the summer I would go just about every week but that horse has been beaten so much we won’t go there. Between the rain and the heat it is awfull hard to make the 200 to 250 mile round trip on a regular schedule. Hope everyone has a great holiday.

Tom

I visited 5 tracks…I think but maybe more
OSW
NSS
Volusia
Sandusky
and some track in West Virgina that I don’t know the name of. I stopped to walk around, no race at the time though.

Raced 1 car 3x at OSW and once at Nss.

Predictions for 2011
spectating… hopefully more than 2010
racing at an oval track, probably 0 but who knows.

I will however be participating in the long haul of the Hot Rod Power Tour with my 69 Camaro starting in Port Canaveral and ending somewhere in Michigan.

I would like to hit a track day or two on a road course, maybe a 1/4 mile and maybe some auto cross.

Racer:
Lanier Speedway
6 races, still finished 6th in points. That tells you the current state of asphalt racing in Georgia. There are signs of a slight upswing at this facility.

Fan:
Gresham Motorsports Park
Awesome facility, lightning fast speeds, grinding crashes.

Road Atlanta
Great place to bring food, beverages, lawn chairs and sit back and watch cars go by.

Dixie Speedway
Some of the best dirt racing around and they are starting to run a more efficient program as well.

Bowman Gray Stadium
Packed grandstands, tons of cars, smackdown racing, best race I EVER attended. Every racer and/or race fan must go at least once!

East Bay Raceway
Winternationals, always worth the price of admission.

When you work at a Saturday night track and don’t get fully rained out even once during the year, it’s hard to see much else - can you believe Auburndale did not suffer one full rainout this year? The only night all features were rained out, we actually could have run as it quit raining and never rained again… but it was already 9:30 with a 100 lap LM race and everything else still to run…
Not sure how many nights but from late Feb thru mid Nov plus the Crash show in Dec, had to be around 40…
Plus - Feb ARCA 200 and Bud Shootout/July Nationwide races at Daytona
7-8 nights at OSW
3 nights in Feb at Volusia - two Sprints/1 LM
3 days of vintage racing in Feb at Zephyrhills
2 visits to Citrus
1 time at NSS for Clyde Hart rainout…

So… around 60 races…
