Rules for New Strictly Stock v6 class for Punta Gorda Speedway in 2011

Strictly Stock V6?s

1. The Car and Body

a. Any Sedan or Station Wagon is eligible. Mid size family sedans. Front or rear wheel drive.

b. Minimum stock wheelbase allowed is 101 inches. No sub compacts, sports cars, or pony cars allowed.

c. 4-point roll cage is mandatory, the roll bar may not re-enforce the body and frame but serve only to hold the car off the driver if overturned.

d. All doors must be welded or bolted shut.

e. All glass must be removed except front windshield.

f. 4 point racing harness is mandatory.

g. Complete metal firewall must seal the trunk area from the driver?s compartment.

h. Complete bumper-to-bumper unibody must be retained.

i. Stock unaltered floor-pan front to rear must be retained.

j. Hood may be gutted; body?s sheet metal must be kept in place at all times.

k. Headlights and taillights must be removed, all body?s side trim and molding must be removed, and all upholstery must be removed.

l. Gas tanks must be secured in the trunk, fuel cell is recommended.

2. Suspension

a. No modifications are allowed. Strictly stock.

b. Ballast not allowed.

3. Tires and Wheels

a. 14? Goodyear Short Track Special

b. 7? steel racing wheel with 3? off set only

4. Engine

a. Must be kept strictly stock for year make and model, no factory high performance is allowed, V6 only.

5. Carburetors

a. Strictly stock fuel injection or carburetor.

6. Transmission and Rear-End

a. Strictly stock for year make and model.

7. Safety Equipment

a. Must disable air bags.

b. Must have window net.

c. Must have stock car racing seat.

I would think this will make a very good class these car a bit easier to get.

Being a new class owners/drivers will have to build these type of cars there are many cars out there to buy to get to build but PGS might want to post what the purse will be for this new class,
