Looking forward to returning to racing in 2011. We have been talking about gettin back into it for some time and finally got my husband interested in helping me to return. We have purchased and order many parts recently after attending the PRI Show which really helped out with some questions we had since I race a Mopar. Waiting to hear back from someone on purchasing their Mopar to race it and say goodbye to the old car that we first started with instead of using one of our other cars. Have met some wonderful people recently that have helped us not only in supplies and parts but know alot about racing Mopars.
Not sure what day we will return since we do have a ways to go but can’t wait to get behind the wheel again. Might have to get my racing fix at the Lil 500 in January.
This year I am going to cross an item off my bucket list: I want to race a sprint car. I’ve practiced in them for a few hundred laps, but I’ve always been out there by myself. I’d really like to rent one for a race.
If you know anyone who would rent out a ride on either dirt or pavement, let me know.
The best place for a guy like me is on a small pavement track, but I’d look at anything.
Stayin’ Sportsman Division…
If they drop that line in the LM class under motor rules “no V-6” I might try to run my NAPA car a little. What are they afraid of a V-6 for???:smilie_abcfra:

We will be running a super late at New Smyrna, Orlando, and maybe Citrus in 2011. We have been road racing for the past decade, and haven’t raced a late model since 1999 at New Smyrna. I am really looking forward to it!

That would be because of the history of V6’s and Short Tracks… Don’t quote me, but If my memory serves me right there was at least one team around here that ran V-6’s and they did some serious damage to V-8 egos (they won)…
I know I have seen them get bounced in more places than Florida, and that was one of the reasons. Don’t forget they weigh way less than a V-8 and alot of them can be spun some unreal RPM’s…
Hey Gee Um… Just for the hell of it, you might want to ask them if they will let you run it a couple of times… Who knows, current management might let U during Speedweeks… HINT HINT HINT…
I am getting back into racing after a decade of being away. I drove 4 cylinder bombers at Lakeland and Aurburndale. I will be stepping into a sportsman for the 2011 race season. Thanks to this site for locating the right car and motor for me!

Well I understand all that, but this car is legal NASCAR weight,3275 without driver, and thats 400 to 500 more than the LMs with a driver. Yes about the rpm. Hell it won’t even pull under 6200 and have had it to 9000. Put a chip in for 7800 'cause that 9000 popped a head gasket at CMP last year. I’ll have it at the Blast in March 2011 for some fun…come on up…

Please forgive my ignorance, but what is the “Blast”?

Ol’-skool Racer Reunion type thing at Citrus County, I believe. The first year, it was held at Lake City (Columbia), then last year, it moved to Inverness. So this’ll be the third year. I haven’t really paid much attention, but I haven’t seen a date for this (upcoming year’s) Blast from the Past. Guys like Bobby Brack, Jim Fenton, Jimmy Cope, Cush Revette…(those are the only names I can remember…LOL…)
Blast From The Past III will be at Columbia Motorsports Park in Lake City again on March 6th 2011. It’s a Sunday. Regular racing on Saturday March 5th and camping overnight for the Sunday Blast. Racers 60 years old and up will have their old cars there to race and talk about the old days…Lots of fun and fellowship…
