360 Sprint Cars....

Why wouldn’t a track bring back the 360’s this year. Especially with the state of asphalt Sprint car racing being as it is. I know some guys that have them sitting I’m the garage doing nothing. Just curious.

The TBARA runs 360 C.I. engines. After reading their website, I see that their schedule is unusually thin for 2011. I’m a big fan of this group; I think they put on the most exciting and interesting races in Florida, bar none.

The TBARA is an expensive show for the tracks to put on, so the tracks have to rely on a bump at the front gate to make it worthwhile. In 2010, the TBARA would roll into De Soto or Orlando with 20+ cars, put on a hell of a good show, but still play to empty stands. To a lesser extent, I observed this at New Smyrna too. For some reason, the fans were not turning out like they used to. I don’t believe the quality of the show has diminished; to the contrary, they have lots of competitive cars and more passing than any other pavement group.

Maybe part of the problem is the high admission price that tracks want to charge when the sprints roll into town. All we need to do is figure out a way to attract another 1000 fans a night… Sprint figure 8?

Pavement or dirt?

I’m sorry, dirt.

To the best of my knowledge the Top Gun series is going to hit just about every dirt track in Florida this year, starting at Hendry County.

All we need to do is figure out a way to attract another 1000 fans a night…

Promotion…Promotion…Promotion

We are under feet of snow right now up here, and I receive updates & press releases from ACT every week.

Fastrack Crate Late model the same, every week I receive something from them.

Why are the Governor Cup And Snow Ball Derby so attended, beside being Classics, everybody talks about & promotes them months in advance.

Sometime, series relies on race tracks to promote them and vice versa, so nothing is getting promoted…

In these day and age, every body must put the shoulder to the promo wheel, tracks, series, drivers, team members, race fans, I mean everybody.

The word has to get out.
