USAC Southeast Sprints race at Citrus County is canceled for next week.

Now we have zero pavement sprint car races during SpeedWeeks.

Ok what happened?

Ok Trip… What happened fill us in on what’s going on…

The series informed the speedway today, that they were unable to secure a sponsor for this race. Since the drivers will not run for a reduced purse, they have cancelled the event. I’ve heard rumblings of possible tampering that may have influenced prospective sponsors back out at the last minute. I hope that was indeed not the case, cause that would be cutting off your nose to spite your face in my opinion.

This isn’t good for anyone, sprint cars will suffer as a series, and now the speedway is left with a huge hole to fill 9 days before the race. I applaud Mike and his staff for being the only series to go out and try to promote themselves by finding race and series sponsors. I know they will get it straightened out and we will have pavement sprint car racing soon.

The plot thickens - a movement is afoot by some people to try and run wingless sprints that night, an unsanctioned race.

If they can get 14 confirmed drivers today it looks like it will be a go.
