Get ready for a new era in NASCAR!!!!!

With the six new rule changes in the NEXTELL CUP the NEW ERA begins. This year looks tobe the begining of the next level in NASCARS history. The new noses will make the Manufactures develope new customers that will come from the new NASCAR Fans. I think these last two weeks of waiting for the 2011 rule changes was well worth it. What are your two cent worth think about it???
:huepfen024:NASCAR:huepfen024::sport009:

The new noses will make the Manufactures develop new customers and will become new NASCAR Fans.
The new noses on the cars have nothing to with the manufacturer any more. It was all because of the complaining that the drivers did because with the old nose, the cars handled terribly. Got nothing to do with Toyota, Chevy, Ford, or Dodge.

Remember when the Ford guys would cry because the Chevys got less spoiler than they did? Then Ford would come out with that slicked-up Thunderbird. Then Chevy came back with the SS. Then Ford wanted more spoiler again. And the cars were going 212 mph at Talladega. Elliott would make up TWO LAPS under green at Talladega to beat Cale Yarborough. Then came the Aerocoupes and 2+2’s. And that was the end of “stock car racing” as we knew it in NA$CAR.

And it won’t help “develop new customers and become new NASCAR fans”. That won’t happen any time soon, unless NA$CAR goes to tuner cars, four-cylinders, and fuel injection. These kids nowadays will never know what real NA$CAR racing was, with stock-bodied cars, when you could tell a Ford from a Chevy and a Dodge. In my opinion, NA$CAR’s losing more fans than they’re gaining.

The Chase? It sucks.

The new points system? It sucks. The old one wasn’t that hard to figure out, if you could add and subtract. 175 points for first, drop by five back through sixth place; drop by four points back through 11th; drop by three back through 22nd; drop by two points back through I think 31st; and drop by one. 5 points for leading a lap, 5 points for leading the most laps. Not that hard - well, except for the people actually running the organization (wow, there’s an oxymoron; NA$CAR and “organized”).

And, this also relates to this thread, so I’ll re-post here as well:

Those of us that’ve been around racing long enough to know better, know that what’s on the track now (as far as NA$CAR is concerned), isn’t all that great. The cars have no personality or INDIVIDUALITY - as well as the drivers. The cars are all the same - decals don’t make it a Ford, Chevy, or Dodge. And they’re not even really “American-made” any more. Toyota? Don’t get me started. Not one manufacturer makes a 2-door, rear-wheel-drive, V8-powered, carbureted pushrod engine any more.

In this picture, there are NINE different models of cars - FIVE different Chevy’s alone (the '73 Monte Carlo, the '76 MC, the '74 Laguna, the '74 Monte, and the chrome-bumpered Malibu)

  1. 88 - DW in an early model Monte ('73-'74, round headlights, stuck out taillights)
  2. 5 - Neil Bonnet in a late model Charger ('74-'75, note the difference in grille compared to the '71-'72), and that Petty feller (late model Charger also)
  3. 11, Cale in a later model Monte Carlo ('76-'77) and 72, BP (later-model Monte)
  4. 12, Bobby Allison (Matador)
  5. 63, Jimmy Hensley (Laguna with painted bumper, '74-ish I would say)
  6. 1, Donnie Allison (older Monte, '73-'74) (not the same model as DW’s Gatorade car)
  7. 21, Pearson (Mercury Montego)
  8. 15, Buddy Baker (Ford Torino)
  9. The last car is JD McDuffie in a chrome-bumpered '76 Malibu

Pfffffffffft. “New Era”? Yeah, of losing more of their long-time fans that they haven’t already lost.

Good post Jimmy

I agree with what you say I just think that what Nascar should do is make the manufacturers build a car for Nascar put a limited spoiler and air dam ALL CARS THE SAME and if your car can’t compete you better build one that will. I still say this cookie cutter template car sucks if that formula works they would still be running IROC. When winning matters more that is when the point system works racing ain’t racing if you don’t race to win!!!

New era in nascar???
Here’s your new era, less fans and less interest, lower ratings. Face it, 99% of real race fans don’t give a damn about anything nascrap does,I just find it so amusing that they turn a blind eye to it just like they always have. I watched the Toyota allstar showdown qual. last night, it sucked, all the cars look the same. Lemme put it like this, on 500 day my gang will be headed back north after spending many nights at Volusia,Eastbay,Ocala and New Symrna.
I could care less what nascrap does to its point system. You say new noses? Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeaze!! You have got to be high if you think any real race fan is buying into that, who the hell want’s to see 43 iroc cars??

Amen brother! Nascar is a turnoff anymore today. Their future is in the trashcan!

nascar is overrated ill take my local dirt track anyday

NEXTEL Cup???

Check out Siirus XM-Radio!!!

If you love Circle Track Racing (NASCAR Style)check out Sirius XM-Radio. I got one and it changed my thinking completely about NASCAR. If you don’t have you would be lost abouts whats happening (and that understandable). This will be a NEW ERA in the Sport of Stock Car Racing. Now don’t answer if youv’e never heard it. Because you talking out of school. It’s the GREATEST!!! 2011 will be the YEAR!!! My pick is Harvick for the Championship!!! Who’s yours.:huepfen024::ernaehrung004::huepfen024::aetsch013:

It will be the Johnson show AGAIN!!! Which will continue the decline of Nascar. Most people don’t have XM, I do. Sorry I’m not going to sit in my wifes car for 3 hours to listen to a race. Same reason I don’t listen to talk raido about racing or sit at a computer to listen. I have better things to do with my time. :sprachlos020: But with most not having it, it’s still going to decline and lose more of it’s fan base.

coming to a time when fishing is more fun :ernaehrung004:

Really?.. Really? As someone who has grown up with Nascar and been heavily involved for 40+ years I highly doubt I would ever be lost about whats happening with it, personally I could car less. Just last week the 24 hour was ran and already they are ramming Jimmy Johnson down our throats, I say NO THANK YOU! I refuse to have to listen to any commentator rattle on like he and Jimmy are gay lovers about how he’s the greatest thing to happen in nascar since Fireball Roberts. God how miss Benny.

Your right 2011 will be the year, the year Billy Moyer tops half a million in winnings running ( for you nascrap idiots) something called a dirt late model at short tracks all over the country and my pick is Josh Richards to beat him out for the #1 spot in the national rankings.

AbY do you ever see our little buddy Chris Ferguson? He was going in the dirt direction when we were bring our kids out of the national kart level. We went in the asphalt direction. He was a good shoe. I pretty sure our other little buddy Austin Hubbard was doing in that direction also. His daddy was Daddy Warbucks. Big money.
