In Panama City/Bay County—
A couple of weekends ago, on the Lil’ 500 Raceway Nite, Jaqui and I set forth to Panama City for a family reunion on a weekend, of sorts.
Bored as usual, on Saturday Afternoon I set out and located the old famous Boss Hogg Raceway on Hwy 231, near Youngstown, Fl.
To the west on an old dirt road, I once again found this ol’ gem.
It’s not a gem anymore…as it has been completely re-tooled, and made into a moto-cross/ATV type facility, which actually looks pretty cool.
You can still see the remnants of the old 3/8 miler dirt drack, and banking, and the fronstretch wall, and the haphazard stands are now gone on both sides, and a really nice layout of a formation of a track, for motorcycles/atv’s has been now put in it’s place instead.
The course utilizes the old Oval in all aspects, and the course jumps all 4 corners of the banking of the old Oval, and that still comes into into play.
So there racefans, you have the latest on Boss Hogg Speedway. thank you
