Well, this kid is the real deal… he beat some of the best in both the Pro and SLM races Sunday at Lanier… Did not run away with either race… made some good late moves in both events… I know he’s got the best money can buy, but so did half the others there… the young man just seems to have the talent and his dad is bringing him through the ranks very well…
Travis Kittleson had a nice steady run to get 11th!!
Ben Kennedy and Casey Caudill both crashed late in the race… Caudill’s car (voted “best appearing”) was pretty trashed…
Pretty decent fields… 21 Pro Lates…
Here’s the SLM finish:
1 9 Chase Elliott
2 18 Bubba Pollard
3 67 Danie Hemric
4 82 Grant Enfinger
5 5 David Ragan
6 51 T.J. Reaid

15 45 DeWayne Buggay
16 98 Mason Mingus
17 25 Ross Kenseth
18 36 Anthony Anders

What a great field of cars. 5 NASCAR teams represented. Casey started 19th , moved to 13th at the 100 lap break and running 6th on lap 130 when was booted from behind. Had to restart in 29th worked back to 17th on lap 197 when trailing arm bolt broke sending him hard into the wall. Casey was shook up but is ok. Car in bad shape needing front and rear clips. We hope to have it fixed in time for Rattler 250. I’ll post before and after pics later
Kelly Caudill

Speedfest Weekend Available On DVD
The 2011 racing season is underway and this year's first big event is available on dvd at www.racingvids.net. The video crew used several different camera shots during the weekend, including in car cameras riding with winner Chase Elliott and Mason Mingus. An in-truck camera was also used during Saturday night's Rheem 100.
Videographer Michael McIntyre captured footage on the main shot, while the other camera angles will be mixed in throughout all of the action. On Saturday, track announcer, Charles Head called the action, while Speed51's Bob Dillner and Adam Mackey were used for Sunday's portion.
Every green flag lap of every race during the weekend is on the two-dvd set. Saturday's dvd includes Bandoleros, Legends, and Trucks, while Sunday's racing features the Pro Late Model 150 and CRA Southern Six Pack Tour 200 presented by Red Top Auto Auction.
The complete weekend DVD set is available for $20. To order, go to www.racingvids.net.
There is nothing stopping this kid from going to the top. Only his age is hloding him back. Although I still don’t like young kids racing top-level racecars, this kid has major-league talent. I’d rate him in the top-5 in all of shart track racing right now.
The detractors, and the uninformed, will think he just got there because he’s Bill Elliotts kid. Sure, they have great equipment, but so do most of the guys he runs against, and still whips them more often than not.
Last year, he ran Super Lates, Pro Lates, ASA-cars, and ProCup cars, and won in all but the ProCup car I believe. Came close to sweeping Snowball Derby weekend… and there is no shortage of talent or budgets at that race. Someday soon, I’ll be able to tell people that I’ve been watching him come through the ranks for 5 years, and he EARNED his way to the top… unlike FAR too many Nascar racers these days. Like Davis Ragan, Paul Menard, Steven Wallace… c’mon… really!!!
Also, to keep an eye on are Ross Kenseth, and very unknown Daniel Hemrick. Daniel only has maybe a handful of races in full-sized cars (but he did win the Legends Million race), he has been very impressive, and this week proved it again.
Also, does Ben Kennedy have any cars left for the Pete Orr race this weekend? His last 2 races ended with heavy crashes. I’m sure money isn’t a problem, but having enough TIME is another consideration.
Hey and you know what Chase, Daniel and ben have in common??? They have all raced at Orlando SpeedWorld
I have had dealings with all 3…and I can tell you they are CLASS acts!!!
