My two youngest sons each made their driving debut tonight at Hurricane Speedway in Sharpes. They ran in the “kids kart” class and absolutely loved it. My 8 year old won the feature and both heats in #85. My 7 year old ran great too, and is the third generation to drive the #33. His grandfather, (my dad) raced that in charity fund raisers until well into his 70’s.
A huge thank you to former SLM and Sportsman racer Sid Stites, He brought 6 karts to the track, including the 85 that he graciously loaned to us. He is all about having fun by racing with his family, and we certainly had a chance to enjoy that too. Thank you Sid!
Yeah, its been a good few days. Since the race, they have been pestering me to buy another kart, and they want to build a track in the yard. To make it easier on me, they informed me that it does not have to be lit, but we do have to cut it into the retention pond so the corners are banked!
