Great show for true vintage racing enthusiasts!

:aetsch013:Saturday night was a great show for those who are true racing “purists” at heart. Desoto Superspeedway was priviledged to host the “DAARA” (Daytona Antique Auto Racing Association) cars at the high banked oval. The show included 35 + antique and vintage racing vehicles in 6 different divisons. This unique racing show is an unmatched combination of “door to door” racing action by an incredible lineup of cars, each of “car show” quality. This show was a huge hit with the crowd on hand. Even the drivers and crews of the weekly racing series stayed and joined our great regular fans in the front grandstands to watch these incredible cars of all types and ages race in “no holds barred”, “wheel to wheel” action! It was truly a privilege to host this great event and Desoto Speedway, Management, Staff and Fans would like to say “Thank You” to this great group of drivers and owners who spend their own time and money to allow us to enjoy the history of our great sport of auto racing. Thank you and we very much look forward to you returning to Desoto Superspeedway in the near future.

I work with this group every year for the Modified Reunion… you can’t find a finer group of racers anywhere. Outstanding people, who respect each others equipment, help each other if anyone has troubles or a breakdown, and above all, these guys (and several girls also) have a ton of fun.

And they do it all for ZERO purse. No DQ’s, no fights, no bitching about the Tech people… just a lot of smiles, encouragement, and some pats on the back.

A LOT of racers could learn a bunch from these guys on how to have FUN racing…!
