Don used to race at Sunshine Speedway, and a few other tracks around central Florida I believe.
I think his number was 39.
If anyone has a photo of Don that they could post, or send to me, I’d really appreciate it.
Thanks in advance

[SIZE=“4”]Actually Don drove the #139 Tornado car for Bob Thomas as well as the #51 Figure Eight car for himself.
Here are a few pics I have of Don in the Sunshine Speedway Programs from back in the day.
Here is a mini-bio of Don that appears in the 1971 Sunshine Speedway Yearbook (top of page).
Here he?s shown in his #51 Figure Eight on the bottom left (frame #3) on the cover of Sunshine Speedway Program dated 10/03/1970.
Here is the driver lineup per class from that same program. As you can see Don?s listed as the driver of the #139 Tornado and his own #51 Figure Eight car.
If you care to you can see more of the #39 & the #139 Tornado cars here are a few on my FB page.

the good old days and trophy girls
That’s great. Thanks.
Seeing these pictures sure brings back some good memories. Don Perryman was one of the nicest guys you would ever have the pleasure of knowing, if you looked up the word ‘underdog’ in the dictionary you would see Don’s picture. Don had to compete against some pretty tough competition back then including, Dan Daughtry, Butch Johnston, Lester Slone, Aaron Collier and Denny Myers, just name a few, with a lot less resources. I remember Don built a new car, this was his pride and joy, he had a big black horse painted on the side that was reared up in it’s back legs, when i asked him what the significance of the horse was, he proudly said “I finally got my Black Stallion”.
Don has been following the South East Champ Kart Series, watching from the grandstands, with his son Bubby Perryman, and together they recently purchased a champ kart.
He and his son will be in the pits on June 25 at Citrus County Speedway with the South East Champ Kart Series, just watching and learning about the champ karts.
They are hoping to have it ready to race for the first time, when the series races at Punta Gorda Speedway on July 16. The son will race it, but Don has said he is planning to take the champ kart out for a practice round or two, when the mood strikes. :ernaehrung004:
We are happy to have him join the series.
[SIZE=“4”]I ran across a few more write-ups & pics on Don in my collection of
Sunshine Speedway Programs.
This first one is on the front page of the May, 1973 issue.
In 1973 Sunshine?s programs were sized 11-1/2? X 17-1/2?
so I had to be a little creative to get the entire page in.
Don appears in the upper left frame with whom I assume is his son
Bubba along with flagman Allen Seeds and members of his crew.
The write-up is just above the photo.

[SIZE=“4”]Here on the second page of the June, 1973 issue Don appears in frame
#3 (left ? center row) again with whom I presume to be his
son Bubba along with flagman Bob Phillips.
The write-up is on the bottom right of the page.
