[I][B]I not bagging at all. It’s was a lot of fun trying to remember all the tracks. But, I woke up and remembered a couple more. Did you know that the IMSA GT cars ran the Pocono Speedway in reverse to the direction the NASCAR, and ARCA run? And the bumps you see on TV in the reverse direction are a killer. And forgot about, Charlotte in NC the old Lowes Speedway (IMSA GT and KELLY GIRL), did I mention Line Rock (IMSA GT , Firehawk Series) is got to be one of the most beautifully tracks in the World. We always race on the day after INDY. Sorry for boring you with memory lane. Oh yea the Jacksonville Road Course is wild for the Karts.
I think Jessica’s right that’s enough. I don’t think there was any more anyway. Just kidding. Now time to load up the Promo Trailer and spreed the word about the Sport we all LOVE!!! Sure hope the raining holds off for everyone. Don’t forget to set your DVR for the Nation Wide race in Road America. And check out the Grand Am race on Sunday as well. The GT cars were realy cool at that track!

Bobby has said he believes the cup drivers are the best, to which open the door for a lot of discusion, some about someone couldnt hold someones steering wheel etc. I agree there are a lot of drivers with the talent to drive cup that will never get the chance because of $$$, or the right attitude, Its a shame. However the lineup for Sun. pretty much proves Bobbys right, what is the highest starting position for one of these hired guns? I think 30th, Boris Said, who by the way I would love to see win. But when you consider some of these cup crew chiefs have probably only set up 2-3 cars for road coarses, some new ones maybe never, its pretty amazing how they usually pretty much beat the hired guns, the road racing specialists. I know theres exceptions, and wouldn’t mind seeing one Sun, but chances are we wont. Why??? They’re the best today. Yeah I already know, I’m brain washed!!!
If Jessica got a chance I know in my heart she would be a GREAT one. Money is what drives our Sport. But, it also take the want to do it (as anything does) deep in your soul. Jessica has the fire and the brains to set behind the wheel. If I were to hit the Lotto I would start a Development Program and she would at the TOP of the list. I saw Matt Martin who had all the money to do it, and the Dad to get into the right doors, and had the talent to race, but Matt just didn’t want it. And that’s not a bad thing. It wasn’t for him. I respect Mark for not pressuring him into something he didn’t want. That’s being a good Dad. So I’ll buy a ticket today and maybe if the stars will aline the Dream can continue. Oh yea check the TV the Grand AM at Road America mite be today.

A lot of teams are struggling at Sonoma with finding any forward bite for their
900 HP “marginally” guided missles. Most of the Cup regulars have by now been well instructed and well tested on road courses. The money teams put a ton of effort into building and testing their road course cars these days and it shows. The teams that were able to get those monsters to hook a bit are up front. All of those guys can hustle a car, some not so smoothly, but they can still put in a flyer. Some of the proven road course stalwarts struggled in qualfiying ie
Marcos Ambrose 8th
Jeff Gordon 13th
Mark Martin 16th
JP Montoya 17th
Smoke 20th
Robby Gordon 28th
Boris 30th
But Look for many of these to perform better in the race than qualifying.
what “was” is history. i love reading about events that used to be. Bobby Diehl is my friend of many yrs. and i am still learning some wonderful things about him.
Someone mentioned this is a message board and it was meant for discussions. Bobby, Tuna, EZ, Jess… everyone on here has the right to talk about anything they want as long as it isnt vulgar of hurtful. There are so many stories our veterans can tell. but we need to give them a chance. They will not come to a discussion board that will insult them or hurt them. Buzzie, Tuna, Little, dave and so many many others have stories to tell that could rock this board if we get back on track and quit the nastiness.
Tuna… you have done alot and if you approach things in a proper way instead of being so defensive and hateful, we would love to hear them.
in spite of all the mistakes Bobby made and all the hateful things said to him, he has the courage and personality to come on here and TRY to present racing in a fun way. He always answers nasty replies in a kind way… we should all follow example. Don Nerone has made mistakes but he has also done alot of good. Some of the things said to him are downright disgusting and not at all necessary. He is a senior citizen with many serious health issues … why be cruel to him? what does it accomplish? NOTHING…
Tuna…you have everyones attention so now is the time to share history and share some great ideas and tell us about the good things you have contributed. i know there are many.
sometimes peoples thoughts just dont come out right in the way they write. people can read but sometimes not comprehend. thats the main problem with these boards.
Racing people are awesome. when the &(^^^ hits the fan they come running out of the woodwork to help and to try to promote. thats what will keep racing alive… not the constant bickering. how can we make people want to come to races when they read all this crap? it just scares them away.
these are my thoughts and words and i have a right to them… please lets get on track and make people WANT to come to races.

Carol you are dead on it. Don N. and Teddy K. were some of the first to help transition me from the World of Road Racing to Stock Cars. Without their guidance the FASTRUCK Series, The FAST HOUR on TV or CCMP would not of ever existed. Don once told me (when I got a little cocky and my pants got a little to big) that what I need to do is buy a Race Track. He was right it’s always different from the other side of the Office Door. Tunaman has some GREAT stories of his LOVE for racing. He’s help a lot of Racers with support. He is one of the BIGGEST FANS of our Sport. I think that Positive only builds positive. And everyone learning from their experiences. No one should ever through rock when we all live in glass houses. I would love to read about some of the others on this board. I sure the STORIES would be fun. So who’s next. What’s in your wallet?

My wallett is empty!!
Yes, i used the wrong language and I apologized to Rick and everyone on here, guess what, Rick was the only one that acknowledged it, and for that I am thankful, he is a man an I respect him, sorry. As for the rest, I’m not surprised. Am I sorry for what I said to 2 or 3 people, no, not at all, they started it with me first. Carol, do me a favor and find where I have been mean and dirty to ANYONE that didn’t start it with me first. Its just that some of them are friends with you and you can’t take me not liking them, I have reasons, namely, everyone of them started it with me because of my problems with Boney. I have even state several time I know Boney has friends here and I have no problem with that but it still seems you and only a few others cant accept that. Thats your problem, not mine. I know you’re sincere but I for one don’t need your motherly advice, sorry, don’t mean to hurt your feelings. Its just when a certain 3-4 run their mouth about me when I’ve said nothing about them, I can’t take it. Bobby Deihl, Don Nerone are much better than I am in at least that respect. Know what hurts, I BET some of the “Lug Nuts” are people I’ve spent hundreds if not thousands helping. Oh well, I helped because I wanted to and enjoyed it but it will be a LOOOOOONG time before I do again. Guess thats about all I can tell about racing. Its a great sport, I do NOT agree with the ways most things are done, and a lot of people, myself included have been treated at some of the local tracks and THAT is why the stands are empty, and why I rarely attend, the low car count. The cars and crowds are not there because I called someone “The Mr. Investment Man” or a lug nut? This blaming my negativity seems to be a new rave this yr, what will it be next yr?? What did I have to do with what went on at NSS last week? What does my negativity have to do with so many people saying the rules are not followed fairly? I even said I don’t honestly know, that maybe its better now, I been to 5 races this yr and in the pits 0. I know how Tim likes to bi about the fact I rarely go but that doesnt mean I dont miss the way it was just a few short yrs ago, and as far as wether Tim likes it or not, you can guess wether I care!! I intend to go to Auburndale, Desota, Bobby has a few things going that I think is good for racing, so no Tim I havent given up on racing, I just miss the way it was. I believe even before you were there. Oh, by the way, this post is only so I can see my name under the lights, yeah right!!!
Not long ago someone posted, and I agreed, that some of the local tracks should promote their track more on here, KARNAC. After all its free! Some also complain how PGS, Desoto and Ocala promote on here. They said its useless, no one reads this anyhow, but now my negativity is why the tracks are empty. How can that be if no one reads this???
i was NOT referring to you. i was referring to whoever was insulting Don about knots on the head. that was uncalled for and sucked. the man has paid his dues, is a senior citizen and not in good health… isnt that enough? Why do you always take every insult to be directed to you? and then you get pissed. You are not the only person on this board tho you can hold a one man show!another thing! even tho Boney is one of my closest friends i do not always agree with him… he said some things i think he could have left unsaid. everyone did.
JEEEEEEEEEEZ i wish i could go fishing. Maybe i will just open a can of Tuna!
carol
As far as Don is concerned some people LOVE to knock you when you’re down, there aren’t a lot on here but the same 3-4 all the time. They can knock me all they want, I could care less. Carol, I hate to say it but I’ve never done anything great as far as racing goes. We all do make mistakes, mine was getting excited about it and trying to help people that I thought contributed to the sport, little did I know it would all come back and bite me later.
Oh yeah I left off Auburndale as one of the places I raced (FASTRUCK,Stock Cars, Go Karts, and I even remember the bikes). Sorry also I left off the old Lakeland Road Course (SCCA, and drag raced). Yes, I copyed and paste. I let you know but I realy think thats all of them. The MIND is a terrible thing (memory that is).
Eh…NA$CAR on the road courses. Sometimes they’re GREAT races…sometimes, they suck so bad. When Bruton took out the carousel and “reconfigured” Sonoma, they took out one of the best places to pass on that track. When Watkins Glen was reconfigured with the “inner loop”, I understand that it was done for safety (190mph plus down the backstretch before the inner loop and into what was the old turn six, I believe - the “horseshoe”), there went another good passing zone.
Riverside was probably the best road course for stock cars. Plenty of passing zones everywhere there. The esses, turn six/seven/eight, the backstretch, turn nine…even the frontstretch and into turn one was a great passing place.
I also think that the Cup regulars have gotten better on the road courses over the last five to ten years. Used to be if you weren’t a top team, you had a hired gun behind the wheel - Ron Fellows and Boris Said are two of the best road racers ever. Now, the Cup guys like Tony, Harvick, Juan Pablo, Newman, Gordon, Johnson, Kurt Busch…are all pretty decent. I still don’t think that Kyle is all that great on the road courses, but he’ll get there eventually. He’s got plenty of years left in him.
Yep. Back to Daytona. Saw they were already looking at who they would be Teaming up with. Let the GAMES begin!
