Bryan Wescott Sr. Memorial 100 Race

[SIZE=“4”]I would like to take this opportunity to announce a special up-coming 100-Lap Super Late Model race that a few of us have put together to commemorate the life and memory of Bryan Wescott, Sr.

It is the Bryan Wescott Sr. Memorial 100 @ Auburndale Speedway scheduled for Saturday, September 24, 2011.

Those that knew Bryan personally will agree that not only was he a good shoe in a Late Model but you could not find a more dedicated son, brother, Husband, Father or friend.

A deeply religious man, Bryan graduated H.S. from Central Pinellas Christian School in Clearwater, studied at BUA (Baptist Universities of the Americas) Atlanta campus, graduated from TBC (Trinity Baptist College) in Jacksonville, spent time as Associate Pastor, Youth Minister & Music Director at Victory Baptist Church in Eustis, Florida and upon his return to the area was the youngest Deacon at New Testament Baptist Church in Largo, Florida until the time of his passing on 30 August, 2001, at the age of 40.

Married to Jackie Nasse in 1982 (see cool photo below) Bryan left behind four wonderful children, Bryan Jr., Bryana, Blake and Brittney Wescott.

I wish to thank Mr. Jim Huffer (Karnac screen name “anOPINIONATEDsob”) for presenting the idea originally as well as being a heavy contributor to the cost of this undertaking.

I also wish to thank some of the others that have contributed to the additional costs to date including; Herman Jensen’s Paint & Body Shop, Kenny Faircloth, Harlan Faircloth (CORE Engineering – Winter Park, FL), Richard Gay and Chuck “Shorty” Stewart.

And a very special shout-out of appreciation from the Wescott Family and myself to Auburndale Speedway Management; Ken & Charlotte Hyatt and Rex & Colette Guy for graciously providing us a venue for this Memorial Race to coincide as closely as possible to the 10th anniversary of Bryan’s passing.

Following is the payout for this event as well as a Flyer announcing the pertinent details that yours truly threw together this morning that may or may not be replaced by another member of this consortium with more graphics talent then I possess.

For any technical inquiries or general track questions please call Rex Guy @ #863-287-4344.

If you wish to contact me for any reason you can reach me on my cell @ #727-224-6180.

I hope as many friends, fans and racers can see their way clear to attend this event as is possible.

Thank you Rick Anges & Karnac for providing us this venue for important race related announcements and thank you friends, fans and racers for your consideration.

Jim F.

[SIZE=“4”]Hi Charlie. Yes, I vaguely remember the relationship with Bryan & your dad.

Is this the car you?re thinking about?

This is one of Bryan?s cars I drove at Sunshine while helping him with the set-up.

Bryan was a good father, husband, son and friend that like others were taken way too soon and we miss him also.

Hopefully you and your family will be able to attend this special race that we?re doing in his memory.

It should be a good one.

Big Three Sportsman

Yes Sir . Thats, The one. That was a Sweet RaceCar. ( I May Be Biased on That Opinion.) We moved away to Levy County in 82. I will make that race at Auburndale. Thank You Jim for The Picture.

Note on the article that this has now actually changed to a 2-day event so plan to come out and take advantage of what the track has to offer on Set-Up night.

Also, here is the new Flyer with the revised qualifying / lineup procedure.

Add Austin Kirkpatrick in the WRC #3. Other than Speedweeks, he has been on dirt all year (and doing a hell of a job).
