We have lost another good man!

I did not see this posted anywhere on here…I have not been on here in a few days, so if it is on here my apologies.

Wayne Handyside the former General Manager and Promoter of Columbia Motorsports Park passed away this week. Wayne is the brother of Sandy Nerone. Wayne was a wonderful person and he will be missed! Thoughts and prayers out to his family!

Wow what a shock! Wayne has been a friend of mine since I was 17 years old and started racing at Deland Raceway. He use to help me with a '57 Chevy that was a late model back then.We both helped Jimmy Stroud with his race cars.
Sandy I am so sorry. Wayne was a great guy and will be missed by many!

This has been a very rough week for me with first losing Glenn “Pee Wee” Mercer, a bullrider from Williston who died last Saturday. My dad helped him co-write his book and he had not been able to move from the neck down for many, many years.

Then we loss Wayne who was a wonderful man. My heart goes out to his sisters Sandy and Pam and I know how much Sandy loved her brother and her family. My heart is very, very sad and with Sandy, Don, and Pam. Wayne was a good man and will be missed by many. I promise Sandy, he won’t be forgotten.

All my prayers are with you and the Mercer family. May God bless you all and keep you and help you thru this trying time.

Wayne was a friend and good guy. Nothing short of an encyclopedia of racing history in general and Florida in particular.

Wayne you will be missed.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
