Who Remembers This Guy?

One of the neatest people I ever worked for…

Uncle Bob…

Uncle Bob…be there !!!

I too had the pleasure of working for and with him. He was a promoter and boy was he good at it.

yyep still got my shirt.

The best I ever saw.

That photo was taken from the dictionary beside the word “Promoter”

Is it Bob Harmon?

Yes it’s Bob Harmon… Started at Birmingham Raceway then promoted Montgomery International Raceway until he formed the All-Pro Series that he eventually sold to NASCAR… NASCAR even hired him to run it since they didn’t know what they were doing LOL… Bob’s last hurrah was turning things around at the Nashville Fairgrounds before he got sick…
The All-Pro shows were something to see… Loved the “All Pro Bull” and Bob’s National Anthem that had been recorded by Country harmonica player Charlie McCoy… I managed to get a copy of that from Charlie and used it a few times myself…
I took this photo after Joe Shear won an All Pro race at New Smyrna… He’s posing with the All Pro Bull and the race sponsor, another of my all-time favorite guys, J. W. Hunt.

Wasn’t he the brain behind the KISS series too? I remember, I think in the late 80’s, them racing Desoto. It may have been the early 90’s. He was promoting what ever series was there when Butch lindley had his wreck at Desoto. I remember taping part of the drivers meeting and got a shot of lindley sitting on the wall at Desoto. Bob was a smooth operator.
