The 5th, and final, Modified Reunion will be coming on Feb 24th at New Skyrna Speeedway, the same day as the Richie Evans Memorial 100.
If you’re a fan of old-time Modifieds, this is the place to be. Over 100 former Modified racers, 20-30 Vintage racecars, programs, models, collectables, memories… and a lot of BS stories from the Golden Era of Modifieds.
The cost to attend is $0.00 and is open to anyone who would like to attend.
Just starting out on the contact list, the response has been great. As I compile the list, I will post updates. Some very cool entries so far, including David Hollingers / Jim Shampine Super Mod to be driven by Doug Heveron. This is an original from 1967’ish.
Anyone who would like to attend, or knows someone who is a former Mod racer, please contact me for more details…
$0.00 seems awful steep to me. Think you could throw in an autographed jacket, a hotdog AND pepsi plus a pit pass for the entire 9 days? I’d like to think I’ll be getting my monies worth. I know how you cheapskate event promoters like to wrench my money away from me…
Being the fifth and final I will have to clear the appointment book and plan to be there, buddy. If I can get there early I will even help to do…well, whatever you need me to.
We are planning on being there with the NAPA 15 Chevy too. It’s not an old MOD but still gets a lot of attention…and it’s just FUN to show it.
See youse there Jerry and everyone…
-JIM-
Man. We were thinking about coming up and running the pro late model race on the 24 and the 50 lapper on the 25. I have wanted to stop by the last couple years but I get the impression that Jerry doesn’t like me!!! LOL I was thinking the other day that by the nature of his post lately, he might be mellowing out in his old age!!!:sprachlos020: We almost stopped buy last year but a few of the guy SCARED the crap my wife!!!LMAO:teufel021:
Anyway. Don’t you guy have a big pool for the super late model race who leads the half way lol or something crazy like that??? I have been wanting to get in on a little of that action too. Who won last year. Well you guys have a good time I will be over by my trailer in the infield. Cause I can’t afford to stay in the campground. Hope you guys have good weather.:ernaehrung004:
I don’t think Jerry (dislikes) to many folks, but he can be disagreeable from time to time and that is why i finally have a shot to meet him in person.
I have wanted to for some time now because he shoots from the hip and knows the sport…hobby…job…career, or whatever a particular person would call it. LOL.
Benny (Harry)… thanks for the kind words, and glad to hear you’ll make it.
Mr Dunn… I know we’ve had our ‘disagreements’ in the past, but at least for this one day, all personal feelings, by everyone, need to be left out on Hwy 44. Please feel welcome to join us. One of the kicks I get out of this, is seeing racers that used to fight in the pits, are now hugging, exchanging phone numbers and becoming friends again. No reason we couldn’t do the same…!
Fred… the offer to help is always appreciated, even though I never know what needs to be done, until it NEEDS to be done. Extra hands sure don’t hurt to have on hand. Thanks for all your support in the present and in the past.
Will be posting an early entry list in a few minutes.
Describe “your” trailer. I will be in the infield the 24th.
Benny, It is not etched in stone yet but we are hoping to roll in on Thursday the 23. Stop by anytime.
My trailer is your typical national level karting trailer. 8 1/2 x 48 Pace. All white with no lettering. It is a his and hers addition. 24 foot living quarters in the front for her and a 24 foot garage in the back for me. When you look in from the back it looks like a 24 but when you look at it from the side it is long long long. Pulling it with a white 4 door chevy dually with a turbo wing.:ernaehrung004:
Jerry. I really appreciate the invite. I never really took it as I wasn’t welcome anyway. I am usually just to busy. I was putting it as OJ would say, just poking at ya. I never take it personal unless someone makes it personal and I don’t have any personal feelings of you cause I have never met you in person. Everything else is hear say. I hope you have a great event this year and I hope it isn’t the last. This thing should grow as a part of Speedweek.
I think you need to get ancrdave involved. This is kind of like NASCAR archives. DIS probably has some funding laying around for stuff like this!!!
Jerry if you need help at NSS setting up Friday morning just let me know. I’am at work at 4am so early won’t be a problem.
