Important News Regarding Lake City Speedway

Closed For 2012

We regret to inform the racing community that after careful consideration, FASCAR will be unable to open and operate Lake City Speedway for the 2012 season.

Although every attempt was made, with the full intent of operating the Speedway this year, it is unfortunate that we will be unable to do so.

Negotiations are ongoing with the hope that better news is on the horizon, however, we wanted to make this announcement at this time so that our racers may seek out other opportunities for 2012.

We would like to thank all of the racers and fans that continued to support Lake City Speedway and wish them all the best of luck moving forward.

Any additional information will be released as soon as it becomes available.

;-(

that is sad news. the place is awesome. sorry to hear it.

Yeah its sad. Another short track goes down. That sucks big time…

Sorry to see another track close Hope Orlando is not next.

Is this North Florida Speedway or Citrus County Speedway? Whatever one it is it still sucks! :frowning:

Its North Florida Ricky.

It’s neither… Citrus County Speedway is in Inverness, FL.

North Florida Speedway is in Lake City, and is a dirt track

Lake City Speedway, actually located in Ellisville, is a 1/2 mile Asphalt track. This is the one that is not re-opening at this time

If you’re talking about the old Columbia Motorsports Park, the track doesn’t suck. Maybe car counts, past management, tech, ect., but not the track itself. One of the best to race on IMO!

Take another look RSB… I think he means the decision sucks, not the speedway.

Yep i liked the track also RSB and im sure it was my falt its closing…
someone will open it …

Damn, I should have known!!

It depends on management. A racer is smart about what he is doing and a promoter/manager needs to love racing and the racers.

Management also needs to know how to fill seats in the stands and DO IT. That allows a bunch of extras and further growth until the track becomes a cash cow.

I have not seen that in Orlando or many other tracks in the area.

My head herts also RSB…

Jerry i missed you fri night…Bobby ate your share…
no Rex no Tuna nothing to crank up…
well the 3 heats i watched at eastbay were great…
