Given my recent success on this board with info on J.D. Lewis, let’s try something a bit more challenging.
Looking for info on former Hialeah Sportsman car owner John Ellis. Rumor has him passing away in a DeLand care facility sometime in 2009 but I’m unable to get confirmation.
Despite having lost part of an arm in an airboat accident, John built gorgeous cars, first a '57 Chevy and later a '68 Camaro run in the six cylinder Sportrsman class at Hialeah. Cars were red and gold and wore No. 1 on the doors. Drivers were Bobby Coyle, Bobby Henry and finally Robbye McCoy.
If anyone has any info on John’s passing - date, place, age etc. Kindly let me know. Many thanks in advance.
