Get there early for the Q at Ogle

although our trip started two weeks ago I saved Oglethorpe for last to share, (also under Spin a new way to start) for our final night. We drove into the parking lot about three where we met a very enthusiastic owner or promoter. He made sure to let us know which hotels/motels which worked with the track, as well as restaurants. This made our start so much easier. Returned Friday night for an awesome show of dirt racing. The car count was 79 for 6 divisions with a 13 car late model field. Robbie Cowart in the #24 rode to victory in a very good late model feature. The aluminum bleachers were as clean as a dirt tracks bleachers can be. Sound system worked well, although the announcer had a unique form of announcing. The stands were about 70 per cent full and the fans watched a very fast dirt track (announced time for late models was 127 plus) This one is close enough for us to return again during the season. Don’t know why it took me so long to get there. The show was run right on schedule and all the racing was great. Although we saw all laps, there is a time limit for all divisions heats & features.
