ARCA Racing Series by Menards

Congratulations to Florida drivers Brian Finney, 12th place and Josh Williams 13th place in the 200 lap ARCA Messina Wildlife Animal Stopper at Lucas Oil Raceway, Indianapolis Indiana.

Congrats Phil… Brian did a great job up there.

And the race itself… VERY exciting at most times. That track has always been known as single groove, way out by the wall. But the ARCA guys were using every inch of that track. There was 3 wide racing, and a couple of brief 4-wide action moments… all the things you supposedly can’t do at Indy RP.

Was really pulling for Erik Jones early (popped off an oil pump belt), and later for Mason Mitchell, who pulled off some totally ballsy moves in only his 2nd ever ARCA start. Both of these kids have spent time at New Smyrna Speedway.

Big Congrats goes to Frank Kimmel getting his 75th win in the series, pulling him within 4 wins of tying Iggy Katona for all-time wins. Frank EARNED the hell out of this win.

Also felt bad for Danny Crafton… lead every lap until “supposedly” losing his brakes and tearing up the car. Not sure I believe the brake story, as the car twitched a few quick times before it got in the fence, and I’m not sure how a car would act like that with zero brakes.

Overall, a very exciting race to watch. Probably won’t see a better one in Indy all weekend.
