Very nice gesture by NSS for the birthday people in attendance. Won’t say too much as there is another group of birthday fans coming next month & I don’t want to spoil the surprise. Well the car count grew a little bit on the 22nd and the racing was pretty good. Tonight’s, imo, best feature was the Super Lates. Although a light field of 8 cars, the battle between Clouser #9 & Rogers #11 was a very exciting race with Clouser running right on Rogers tail for the first 32 laps. He had tried inside moves a couple of times during the race which didn’t work, dropped back, then charged again. Finally on lap 32 (?) he dove under Rogers and gave him a little nudge on the left side whcih drove Rogers high and just loose enough so Clouser could take the lead. Rogers came back and could have done the same but backed off and Clouser went on to victory with Rogers a very close second. Also the #07 & #98 had a great battle for third. Something to watch all the time. The best 8 car feature I have seen in ages, Sportsman had 11 cars plus the two pro trucks added to their 13 car starting field. Great drive by the #21 Pro Truck, Reaves, for an overall third place frinish. Winner was #10 Derek Woods after a race long battle with the #17 Hetznecker. .8 minis also on hand. Dude Teate hit the wall very hard coming out of two removing him from action. Winner was #14 Vulpius. Great looking #34 with Debeau (?) was on hand. Other winners were #112 Korpi in e-mods. with Pletka in second. #95 Hill in Supers, #10 in the strictlys. Another good night for this fan at the half miler.
We went up in the stands after the questionable sportsman race and that strickly stock race had a pretty good finish with the 10 nipping I believe the 63to the line!
We watched till the halfway mark and we decided to leave at the caution flag figuring the 63 or the 8 had the race won. Super surprised when I read that the 10 had won the race. Guess I learned that old lesson again. The race isn’t over until the checkered flag falls. Very good night of racing all the way around though. We enjoyed the entire race program and once again had a super time. btw, where did the 10 come? as the race was between the 8 & 63 .
Couple of cautions mixed things up, the 10 worked on him for last several laps. He got under the 63 coming off four and beat him to the line by maybe a foot. Then there was a bit of a shuffle for victory lane lol
Sounds like I missed quite a finish. Thanks for the update.
