Tranny went out last week, so my old pride and joy now resides in the salvage yard of Tyler’s Towing in Orlando… Was hoping it would eventually see its life end as a Demo Derby car at Crash-A-Rama, but doesn’t look like that will happen now unless Danny Tyler can get it to at least run in reverse OK…
I’d like to thank my good friend and former racer Paul Colgan for getting me into my new ride, a 1997 Oldsmobile with just under 55,000 miles on it… Sorta like going from living in a tin shack to a 3 bedroom house LOL…
If you need a good quality car, relatively low cost, in the Orlando area, give Colgans Auto Sales a shot… They are on SOBT at Grand Ave… All sales are cash-only but Paul stands behind his vehicles (nearly gets run over some times LOL) and spends good money to bring them up to his standards after buying them at auction…
Right now he has a nice little silver 2000 Kia 5-speed on the lot that I almost bought (switched to an automatic so my wife could drive it too)… Pretty low miles and runs great… Great commuter car for somebody out there…
There needs to be a ceremony and proper burial for that poor old thing. Enjoy your new ride. Now if we can get you a new lunch pail you will be up town !!
Sorry for your loss Dave. How many miles did she have on her? My baby is at 226,000 and I still love her. I will never say anything bad about Ford Contours, mine is great.
Just thought of a K-car story. Dave left a pair of Daytona tickets for me & AB195 in his gas door, which was parked in one of the lots at Daytona. Our first thought was “how we gonna find 1 car in a sea of 50,000 cars”… and then realized “It’s Daves K-car… only ONE of them here”. We found it within 10 minutes…!
Dave your car can be on display at CRASH A RAMA series show and then we can let FORD ZILLA run it over or better yet the GREEN MAMBA will be there and we can use it in that. just let me know. CRASH A RAMA SERIES CREMATION :engel016:
