guess they CAN DO IT

Just checked the results from OSW 28 sportsman in the feature WOW way to go great seeing the cars come out for a race. The other classes looked better than usual hope it was as good as it looked wish I was there. WTG Orlando By the way results on Speednet direct.

yes it was a great night of racing at orlando car counts were good in the sportsman, superstocks, and the emods . alot of cars there that had not been there in a long time.

Very good night of racing at OSW last night. Not too often do I feel like I got my money’s worth there, but last night was worth MORE than the admission price. Felt bad for Patrick Thomas who drove a great race, and was leading with one last corner to go, but was punted by Chad Pierce, allowing Andy Nichols to slip by for the win. Chad is very talented and highly respected… so I didn’t see that punt coming. I was told by a member of the Thomas crew that Chad immediately backed out of the throttle and allowed others to sneak past, as he didn’t even WANT the win as a result of his own actions.

Good to see a respectable field of E-Mods (11), and a first time winner in Matthew Jarrett.

If OSW could put on a show like this EVERY week, they’d fill the place back up. Talked to a few fans that remembered how it was “back in the day”, and we all agreed that this was pretty close to how things “used to” be.

Great job to all involved in this show. I was thoroughly entertained… and I’ll be the first to admit that I’m a hard fan to please.

Yes it was a great night at Orlando Speedworld, Car counts were very good. 28 Sportsman cars was amazing, Thanks to Barbara and Butch and the countless other driver’s that spread the word about this race and got the car’s to show up. That is the biggest field of Sportsman cars for any race this year at any track in the state. Thanks for doing a great 6 row invert, and for the double file restart’s, this track is made to run 2 wide and it leads to some awesome racing when the car’s are there to support it.

I hated the way the Sportsman race ended, but hey we weren’t that fast, and it let people race me different than they usually do. Great run’s bye lot’s of Fascar regular’s, they showed they could compete with the best traveling Sportsman car’s in the state.

Again Thanks Speedworld for putting this show out there, and hopefully it will show Robert Hart, and Terry Roberts if you promote your butt off like Barbara has done, and you treat people right they will come back.

Patrick Thomas 25

So great to see OSW rock em. Glad to read the positive remarks coming in about the night, If you were there please keep those who were at home informed as to the nights happenings and your feelings about the night. Wish I could have been there but medical issues kept me at home. Sounds like the old days can still happen at OSW. Cheers to all those that put this show together, your work now shows rewards. Keep it going …OSW !!!

Despite what happened to Patrick, it sounds like it was a great night. I was planning on being the 29th Sportsman, but an unexpected emergency at home prevented me from being able to come. Great showing guys. I remember Barbara Pierce telling me that she had to “sell her soul” to FASCAR to make this race happen. Thanks Barbara for selling them on how great this race could be and it WAS! Shows how much Sportsman guys love racing at Orlando Speedworld in a big event! :ernaehrung004:

It was great to see the car counts last night at OSW…the pits were almost full and I think I counted 85 cars on the line up board…
I was with a friend that knows a bit of racing but isn’t around a lot…he made the comment when the sportsman came out about how different the cars all looked from each other…he asked if they even had rules about it…I told him thats what makes this class so cool…the cars have personality and character and look like race cars…

I do think that one thing that can be taken from last nights turn out…maybe the idea of racing every week for 10 or 11 months isn’t really a great idea…I know how it used to be but…I also know how it has been the last 3 to 4 years…OSW hasn’t raced much over the last few months mostly because of weather…I think this helped the car count…maybe racing twice a month would help the car counts at most places…have a couple of decent paying 50 or 100 lappers for different classes everyother week which would be most classes running once a month or so…people would have the money and time to fix cars to be able to race…thats why I think the SSS would really work if you raced once a month maybe two on occasion…

I also think NSS and OSW should only race 6 months a year each…OSW from OCt to March and NSS from April to September…except of course for the gov cup and speed weeks…the weather is not conducive for OSW in the summer and NSS has the beach folks during the spring and summer months…both of course should race on SATURDAY night…

Just my two cents…

It was a great night. Heck, I even had fun running two wide on the outside for ten laps in my big red bomber!

will come back if they straighten out the rules (i.e. weight) really feel they added to much to our car we were the heaviest car there but still were pretty competive with the field!!! and also a big thanks to patrick thomas and the whole orlando staff for making our first visit to there track a pleasant one!!!:ernaehrung004:

First time racing in Orlando and had a great time. We were told by about every staff member thanks for coming twice lol! Awesome! And Great Job Blaise!

Orlando Should Be The King Track

This is the BEST track in FLORIDA maybe some people will notice.

After 4 minutes of watching caution laps I stopped watching. Someone needs to edit the video.

This is a raw video (GoPro I’m guessing) from a race team. Not a polished edited high-dollar production. To fast-forward just point your cursor (arrow) at the dot on the line under the video screen image. Drag the dot to the right and you will fast forward the video. Great idea of what it was like to be in the middle of the pack in this race.
