It’s Monday and I’ve not found a single post-race story from any track. Maybe they will all be out today, I won’t hold my breath. Y’all bitch about results, I wanna know about the racing action in post-race stories. They build excitement and give credit to the people that support your race track. Lots of begging from race tracks, how about a little something back.
PGS sets the bar high with their video. What will we hear from the other tracks this week ?
The sound of crickets…
[QUOTE=linda;115094]had this posted Sunday morning on our web site

That’s great ! Every track promoter should take lessons from PGS !
Found BRP and FUPS at Citrus on KARNACs front page news.
I was informed East Bay had theirs up on Sunday
Their story ! ( for clarification )
A couple of quick observations from my weekend of racing:
OSW had a 50 lap E-Mod feature, with a pretty nice field of 14 cars. Best move of the night was a FULL field invert. There was a lot of action, that came down to a battle (an excellent one at that) between Shain Held, and the un-disputed king of E-Mods right now, Jarrett Korpi. Held grabbed the win, but he really had to earn it.
Pretty good Super Stock race also. Donny Funk (soon to be sponsored by AB195 & Ocean Waters), beat out Danny Frye, who is ironically sponsored by one of my customers, Buck Lumber Supply.
The show itself needed some serious improvement in efficiency. I realize there were a couple of key staff members who weren’t there, but they’ve GOT to do SOMETHING about keeping the show moving. Far too many occasions of waiting on tire changes by racers who got flats (an unusually high number for some reason), and ENDLESS extra caution laps for racers that couldn’t seem to figure out where they were supposed to re-start. I think they finished somewhere after midnight.
My Saturday race was at Citrus County for the FUPS race. A nice field of 22 cars started the race. After a couple of early yellows, the guys settled down and ran close to 75 more laps caution free. Daniel Webster blew through the field early, and was on rails… until around lap 110. He had lapped up to 7th place in that long green stretch, and Steve Dorer was slowly picking off cars up to 2nd place. A late restart saw Dorer jump to the inside & take the lead. But per FUPS rules, his pass to the inside came too early, causing another restart, and a 2 position penalty for Dorer.
From 4th, Dorer was on the MOVE, while at the same time, Websters car turned evil on him. It appeared to be almost undriveable, and in one of his slides, Jesse Dutilly jumped inside, pitched his car sideways for 50 feet, and somehow did not crash (great piece of driving right there). Top 3 were, Dorer, Dutilly and Webster. If I recall the other lead lap cars at the end (prob. incorrect order here), were Joe Winchell, Jonathan Guy, Herb Neumann, and ???
One of the things I had seen in a while are the Dwarf cars. Similar to, but faster and more exotic than Legends cars, these guys put on a good show. They must be a complete handful to drive, as they run right on, and sometimes slightly over the edge. Even Sprint car legend, Stan Butler wound up facing backwards early in the race… but did get back up to 3rd at the flag.
Also saw OSF, Ocala Jim & and lovely wife Virginia. Some big post-race fireworks were happening between a couple of SLM teams, cops were called, but the situation simmered down in time that nobody left in a car they didn’t arrive in…! Having a very high respect for ONE of those people involved, I will not go into any details about this deal. But I will say, someone was lucky their teeth-count didn’t change before he left.
As usual, Citrus put on a good, entertaining, and mostly efficient race program.
