FASTRAK Announces Launch of Weekly Regional Point Championship for 2013

FASTRAK Announces Launch of Weekly Regional Point Championship for 2013

December, 14th 2012 FASTRAK PR FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Carnesville, Georgia - Officials of the FASTRAK Racing Series announced today that the series would return to having a Weekly Regional Points fund for 2013. ?We tried something a little different this year for our Weekly racers. We added the Weekly World Challenge at our year-ending World Championship and paid our Weekly point fund out through that event. We had some mixed reviews so we have decided that for 2013 we will put a Weekly Regional Championship system in place. We just want to do what the racers want. This is their point money. They earn it. And we want to let them decide how they get it. The general consensus was to have this type of weekly system. So that?s what we are doing.? said FASTRAK Founder and CEO Stan Lester.

The total point fund for each region will be announced as soon as it is available. ?We are working with our sponsors and weekly tracks now to determine exactly what our point fund will be in each region. I feel sure the racers will be pleased with what we come up with. We will have a quality point fund that will pay well through the middle and bottom as well as the top. We will pay the top 30 drivers from the regions. Of course a region will have to have a minimum of 8 member tracks in order to participate. And obviously the driver will also need to be a member of FASTRAK to be eligible for the money.? Lester said.

Lester said he still anticipates hosting the Weekly World Challenge event in conjunction with the 2013 World Championship. However the event will not include a separate point fund, only an event purse. ?The Weekly World Challenge was a great event for us in 2012. It gave some of the guys who missed the World Championship an opportunity to race for some additional money and get some TV time in. We plan on televising the World Championship again in 2013 so we still want to give the weekly guys that shot at racing. So we will hold the event and they will run for a good race purse just like they did in 2012.? Lester added.

Series officials are diligently working on schedules and securing more member tracks in the days and weeks ahead. Look for additional information on this and the touring schedules as they are completed over the next few weeks. The entire FASTRAK Companies International family would like to extend Christmas blessings and holiday wishes to all of our teams, tracks and fans.
