results
Its almost 8 pm sunday does anyone know where to find the results for
these 3 races?
FUPS sure doesn’t appear to very proud of this show, they’re keeping it a secret. When your marketing guy can’t get the results posted for whatever reason, it’s a good idea for someone else in the organization to step in and take care of it. Anybody at FUPS paying any attention?
Matt, I posted the results at 7:59 this morning on the Events Section, and also sent all results to Scott to post on Front Page Section
Thanks Carol.
matt my family comes before anything in life, and when ive been gone for 5 weeks working without seeing them i dont need you to say what i or auburndale need to do…i know some people are problem solvers and some people are problem causers…which are you? if you have something negative to say please call me at 229-873-2511…
As this is a message board, people will give their opinions, good or bad, about everything, with or without your approval. No one mentioned your family, or your commitment to your family. Some folks including me were looking for race results, couldn’t find them, asked where they were. Carol was nice enough to post them.
Tim don’t waste your breath with Mr. Albee !
Most of what I have seen from him is negative. These are the folks that sit around and complain about tracks, promoters, series and more but do nothing positive to help anything. Yep everyone is entitled to their opinion, free speech all that. But when someone simply talks against and bashes things Tim you have the complete right to ignore them. Family is certainly more important than racing and being sure that the folks that do not come to see the series race and they talk negative about, sees any results after a long day and night of working at the track and when then you take time on Sunday to rest. Monday is certainly a fine time for the results to posted and sent out. So Tim I saw you working, I heard you announcing and making it fun and exciting for the fans…do not let this guy bother you.
You just have to know where to go to get your results… Only 3-4 tracks bother to actually do a full press release and story on their events… You can expect a decent story each week from Bubbas, East Bay, and from Punta Gorda (RIP) and it looks like Hendry County has somebody doing it… Citrus has a story most weeks and full results up quickly…
For Showtime - Results are posted on their website pretty quickly (SpeedNet Direct) but no story…
For Lake City - Go to the Florida Flag Stand website message board… They don’t appear to actually have any type of PR person…
For Bronson - Sometimes they post results on their website - they think everybody uses Facebook and Twitter… most don’t…
For Putnam County - The results are usually up on their site by Wednesday, again no one bothers to write a story…
For Auburndale - Carol posts results Monday Morning on the website and sends them out in a press release but no actual story is written…
For OSW/NSS - Most weeks, the results are on SpeedNet Direct pretty quickly and on their websites by mid-week… Again, no one bothers to write up a story…
If you are really running a racetrack (or series), you have a full-time PR/Marketing person who can WRITE and keep a continuous flow of information going… Most tracks don’t want to spend the money…
At first I thought Matt was being a little aggressive in wanting to see results, But Tim and Rick then gave two very un-called for and un-proffesional responces?? Look it takes 5 min to post your results on here. I went to Showtime on Sat., when I came home I turned on my computer to see the A-dale results, because a few friends were racing there. It would have been nice for them to be there. Putting your results on Karnac is free advertising. Just my two cents…Joe
I agree. Matt wasn’t asking for anything un-realistic, just results over something that has been pumped for 2 months. Many people have been asking that everyone give the FUPS series a chance… to come see great fields of cars, great racing… a new era.
But someone asks how it went, and these guys jump down his throat.
Tim… I don’t know who you are, or your connection to either the track or the series, but you sure put up a defensive shield about the request. If it’s your job, DO IT. If it’s not your job, stay the hell out of it. If you ARE part of the series, you sure put out a lousy exame of ‘public relations’.
If nobody was asking, it’s safe to say nobody cared. Since they ARE asking, obvious that fans DO care. Getting treated like that may cost you the very same fans you’re trying to won over. If he NEVER goes to a FUPS show again, I wouldn’t blame him. I will think twice myself before supporting this group.
You’ve got the WRONG JOB Tim…
Frass so we are clear !
He is the marketing guy and announcer now for the track and works his but off, and neither of us are with the series. But this Matt guy has done nothing but talk negative about FUPS and series, but yet he cares about the results…come on. I am sure he was hoping to see a low car count so he could say see I am right FUPS wont work, series at tracks wont work. With all the negative things said it surely that is the only reason he would want to know the results. Frass glad I could be unprofessional in a response cause we know all you guys are. I try not to get to up on this, but some people sure have a way to make you !
As far as I can tell, Matt has spoken pretty much the truth. He sounds to me like a guy that would LOVE to support a well attended, well supported, well reported racing program. He’d love to see 20 or 30 cars in every class. All the hype behind this said it could happen, starting at Auburndale.
So… he asks the question, and what does he get? The track announcer and the Truck series director jumping down his throat for ASKING how it went.
He’s skeptical… like a lot of us are over the latest, newest fad in traveling series.
Instead of a link, some helpful hints, or even just a ‘thanks for your interest’, he instead got a blasting from you two.
Nice job of “promoting” our sport, that most would agree needs a lot more promotion… instead, you two decided to throw out an ass-chewing.
If you guys can’t figure out how to handle an honest answer to a legitimate question… do the entire industry a favor. Get out of it now…
I don’t know Tim or Matt and don’t have a dog in the fight. A lot of people have no idea how hard it is to do things immediately. Family should come first. I know I used to try to get photos out the same night of the race. I often saw the sun come up in the morning and hadn’t yet gone to bed. There were a few times I was just to tired to do it. I often had 12 to 14 working hours on race day including the travel, and sometimes would not see the bed for 24 to 36 hours. When it’s 90 degrees out and humid, it can be a killer. Other track people have the same but most fans don’t realize that. If you have a regular job you’re working at, kids with events that should be attended, or haven’t seen your family in weeks, etc., etc., maybe posting the results isn’t a priority. It is more than just a 4 minute job. Unless you have a digital printout on a memory disc or something, it has to be typed up and then posted. See how fast you can do that. I thought Tim’s first response was polite, informative, but without results, probably because he didn’t have them readily available on a memory card. He said they’d be up later and thanked everyone for their support. I then saw Matt’s reply and I think Tim probably responded in a manner better than I would have. The results were posted but, for whatever reason, Karnac now posts them in a separate area and people didn’t look there. I won’t comment on Rick’s post but I think I know where he’s coming from. Jerry, you and I know each other and we usually agree on most things. I think you may have overreacted here. Just try to put yourself in the guys position.
…grabs more porcorn…
This thread has pretty much made up my mind about the FUPS series. I think i’ll pass on the series. It doesn’t sound like i’ll be missed.
Funny thing is Matt you are blaming the series, and we are not the series !
FRASS made another wrong statement, I am not the Truck series director anymore. I built the truck series back up last season but stepped away and turned over to FUPS. I simply am stating what you have stated and when you made Tim sound like the guy to blame…again trying to get results about a series that you have stated you do not care for, or think is worth having. I however am helping to sponsor the truck series and try to make it a strong series. Your opinion of the series is yours to have, but the only reason you want to know the car count is so you can say "see I told you so, it dos not work. Well it actually did, and to think that many tracks or series are having record car counts is nuts, there are exceptions but the UARA had 16, and others were in the 20 race. The ARCA race was even down at Mobile. So I think when you have 18 trucks, 21 Sportsman and 16 Modifieds that is not to bad. If you want to stay away from the series, your choice but dont say or blame two people who are not officials on the series for your reason, from your posts you have had your mind made up for awhile.
