NSS - Blewitt 76 - Tour Mods - Wednesday Nite

Well finally made it to NSS during the 2014 Speedweeks. Now I have been to all the JB111 76 lappers. 17 Tour Type modifieds took the green. Ronnie Silk in the #6 took the lead in the first couple of laps from #22 Tommy Barrett. Silk then held the lead for the remaining laps for the win. Never challenged. At times Ryan Preece in the #40 (and not the #16 he ran at Daytona) would be able to close but Silk would then pull away again. Preece started 3rd and took second place around lap #6. He remained there for the rest of the race. Third went to pole sitter Barrett #22. #58 Goodale came from his 7th starting spot for a fourth place finish. The best racing in this event in my opinion was between the #51 Bonsignore, (5th)#22 Hossfield,(6th) and the #59 Matt Hirschman (7th)for the fifth spot. Too bad this battle didn’t take place for the lead. Although this race had very little passing it was still great to see these pavement pounders in action at NSS. Bright spot for the night was that there was very little damage to any of the cars and hopefully the 17 that started will have a couple more show up tonight…Talk about close times during trials - Silk at 17.182 and Barrett at 17.183. Not sure why the front row was reversed unless the pole sitter has lane choice on the start. Great to be back at the half miler…See you tonight…BTW The chicken strips and fries were king sized orders for $6.50… pretty good too…
