According to “The Sleaze”, Kevin Eckert of Sprint Car Stats, our own Joey Aguilar ranks 3rd in the WORLD for wins in 2014. Only certified ‘little person’, Rico Abreu and Indy 500 veteran Bryan Claussen are ahead of him.
He leads guys like Donny Schatz, Dave Darland, and surprisingly strong Kerry Madsen.
Pretty cool that a local guy stacks up that well against the world of Open Wheel cars (Sprints, Midgets & Silver Crown).
If he ran against the likes that Schatz does each week that would be something…but come on…12 cars and of those many weak ones each TBARA race???
He’s good but…hard to compare
No disrespect to any guy trying to compete and start in TBARA but things are easy there right now.
It’s strictly a list of wins… no competition index or anything. Strictly wins. Nothing else.
TBARA isnt as tough as it once was, but there are still a good handful of racers to beat. 6 wins in fields that contained Steele, the Butlers, Dude Teate, Ben Fritz… it’s not a ‘gimme’ any time out.
Just saw on Facebook that Joey has been suspended from TBARA races for the remainder of the 2014 season for unsportsmanlike conduct in victory lane at Orlando Speedworld
If true, too bad and too sad… but too funny as well…the guy has created the only publicity and excitement that TBARA has mustered all year…
Well now there were eleven cars!!! Keep on suspending boys and you’ll be down to zero! Maybe a probation could have served him better?
LOL… Good Luck going to Georgia guys…as well as the rest of Florida.
Maybe the “BUFFoon” should be suspended too…antics ya know…
I wasn’t there but…if you WON the race, how could you be unsportsman-like
unless someone provoked you???
Please correct me if wrong!
I agree groundpounder, he was provoked, what happened to that driver, I don’t no, and I believe alvis fields 3 cars in that club, now we are down to 9, Thumbs up TBARA , NICE JOB
