Sir John Arthur “Jack” Brabham has died. Born in Australia April 2, 1926 and passed away this morning, May 19, 2014 in Hurtsville, AU. Three-time World Driving Champion. This photograph of ?Black Jack? at Sebring in 1959 shows him pushing his gas-starved Cooper across the finish line for fourth place in the race allowing him to score his first World Championship. He added two more World Championships in his career, and is the only man to have won the Championship in a self-named car, when he won in 1966 in a Brabham-Repco. Also the first driver to race a rear-engine car at Indianapolis where he finished 9th in 1961. May he rest in peace.
