crate or FL spec engine?

Wondering what is the best choice for building a pro late model? Any suggestions? I like the price of the 604 crate engine!!!

where are you planning on running?

The only track running the prolates is New Smyrna Speedway, the crate motor will probably get you to the flagstand. If you want to be competetive save your money and get the Progressive wet sump engine, from what I remember it is sealed and will pass tech at any Florida track (if they ever decide to run prolates again).
A majority of the cars are running some type of built motor, EX: Progressive, Cope, McGunegill or other, you can run a higher chip, I think it was 7200 or so compared to the crate motor chip which is down in the 5000 range.

More money but better results, good luck!

chip a crate at 6300 you will probally have more torque with the crate more top end with a built motor

Thanks

Thanks for the reply guys, Thinking built motor!!
