Racing tonight at Bronson Speedway!!!

SLM racing tonight at Bronson- It is the postponed race from 2 weeks ago and is the first race of twin tribute races for Bud Howell (tomorrow night at Citrus is the second race).
Dick Anderson, Dave Pletcher, and Wayne Anderson are expected to be at Bronson and even though time trials were run anyone that wants to run can still bring their car- I think 11 cars took time so I’m hoping a couple more show up.

After such a tragic event I thought there would have been a little more promotion of these races by both tracks but I haven’t seen anything on this board, oh well…I guess they figure people visit their facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/bronson.speedway

I’m going to try and get down there tonight- might be a little late because of work but I would like to support this event and the track, I hope others do too. Friday night in north Florida means high school football so some folks may not be able to make it but otherwise come on out.

rain rain go away

dang rain chances (accuweather saying 50-60%) probably going to keep cars and fans away- seeing as how Citrus cancelled practice I was hoping to see a few extra cars…
am I an optimist to drive 2+ hours hoping to see a race or just hard headed? :anim_pound:

Nope, not hard-headed, just a hard core race fan…have someone call you or send up smoke signals if they cancel after you leave the house…OSF.

Good time at Bronson

LoL thanks OSF, glad I was a hard headed optimist last night, had a good time at Bronson.
Things are not perfect there, but are headed in the right direction for sure.

Weather turned out nice and the crowd was decent. Good field of support division cars and they put on a good show.
The SLM were awesome and it felt like the old days- it was cool seeing them fly around the ole “Bronson Bullring” again.
Wayne had the race in control the whole way but Pletcher kept him honest. At the end it was Wayne, Randy Anderson, and Pletcher on the podium. Good race that had a couple late restarts to keep things interesting.
As a side note I’m not sure what was going on with the 92 as he just couldn’t seem to get the handle on the car in either the fast dash or the feature.

Overall was a good time and they are talking about having another SLM show at the end of October- I will definitely go back and am looking forward to what they do in 2015. :ernaehrung004:

How many SLM’s? I imagine a few didn’t make it back, but hoping a few others joined in. I don’t believe Pletcher was there originally.

BUD HOWEL TWIN TRIBUTE RACE sponsored by AUTO VALUE / BUMPER TO BUMPER Stores, Tuffy Tire and Auto of Jonesville, Bronson Lube, Bronson Restaurant, Tri County Towing and Recovery and Beyel Bros Crane…
1 #84 Wayne Anderson
2 #4 Randy Anderson
3 #75 Dave Pletcher
4 #50 Ricky Anderson
5 #151 Nick Neri
6 #32 Shelton Bowers
7 #87 CJ Calabrese
8 #44 Tony Altiere
9 #78 Bubba Martone
10 #51 Will Foller
11 #92 Dick Anderson

Thanks Lurkin.

Good to see Tony Altiere back on the scene. He was a Citrus regular about 20 years ago, and disappeared. I believe he raced up north in the middle years, but haven’t seen his name locally until about a year ago.

11 isn’t outstanding, but is a great start. I’m hoping that Leroy can get things jump started again.

But so far, the track has not done anything, media wise, to help themselves. I do wish them luck, as I’d love to see things happening that will convince me to take that journey again.

10-4 to all that; as you say 11 cars was a great start for a first show and if they have another SLM race in Oct. I hope they draw a couple more- media wise I agree with you also 100%.

Congratulations Wayne, great job.
