They run the Hoosier R750 exclusively. Not sure who the tech guy is but if you call Linda, I’m sure she can give you the guy’s number.

I see a few weeks ago Desoto takes there Super Late Model off this weeks program do to conflict of another track running them so they Put a 50 lap Sportmen race on top of Citrus 50 lap Sportsmen race this weekend. Citrus was the last track to put a schedule out in late March so this would not happen. Which we all wonder why we have low car count and less fans in the seats also.

For the last year I have been hearing from many back in the day. Well back in the day All the track owners got together an had meetings a few times a year to talk things out. Even the ones back then that did not get along still come to meeting to talk to ttry and work together more.

I say as a track owner we still need these meeting a few times a year to get Florida Short Track racing back on track for the good of the racers and the great fans we all have.

Meetings that i’ve read about between track owners over the past 10 years or so have been spectacular failures. Agreements are made, someone sees an edge they might be able to get, they take it, the whole thing falls apart. That’s not the case with all tracks, but even the ones who look to be in sync. , often aren’t.
Concentrate on building your own show and don’t whine about the other tracks. Do it right and the car count and fan count will be there.

Gary FYI, This Sportsman race has been on the schedule since November. If I recall correctly Desoto had their schedule out before everyone except Showtime. It became a 50 lapper as a necessity to make a show out of the night when they dropped the Late Models to not conflict with Auburndale. I agree the tracks could work together better, but you can’t please everyone all the time. Like it or not Desoto had Sportsman scheduled for this night befire you did.

Very true but it was a 25 lap Sportman race not a 50 Lap race Thats why I put a 50 lap race on my schedule in March for 5/9/15 there was no other big Sportmen race this weekend till just the other day. But its all cool. They had a Late Model but moved it do to conflict with Alburndale race. I fully get what your saying trust me. Its all good. I am sure we will both get 10 to 12 cars instead of 20 to 30 for a field.

In all actuality Desoto doesn’t list the length or payout of their races until the Monday before for Sportsman. None of the races on the schedule have an advertised distance. Good luck, Gary. I hope the two tracks are far enough apart to draw a good car count at both.

So as a racer then you really dont know till the week off of the race at Desoto on how many laps the races or the the payout is this the Monday of the race?? Is that what your saying?

Yes, that’s what they have been doing. Payout has been $800-$1000 to win every race for 30-50 laps. Good money, good long races. I don’t mind at all!

both tracks getting into Bronson territory car count wise and split their 50 lappers up into twin 25 lap races- the right thing to do… carry on :teufel021:
