It used to be, at least where I grew up, cars had about 2 weekends after the opener to get their appearance up to “rules” and NO “strictly stock” paint jobs allowed.
This was enforced in all classes, and after 2 weeks if you were not meeting minimum appearance rules you took a little hit at the pay window.
Of course crew members in the pits were in “uniform”, the car number they were with on their shirt and white pants- LoL
things are different now, back then kids wore their pants around the waist and women showed a little modesty- times have changed and our society has coarsened…
