I can’t recall a time in the last 35 years that saw so much racing 9n Sundays. From my count, there will be a total of 6 in a row (with the Snowball Derby coming this weekend).
I made it to Auburndale, Bronson, New Smyrna, & Ocala… and had a blast at each and every one. T-shirts, shorts, cold beers, perfect weather… priceless.
Car counts were all over the map, but most had acceptable amounts, and some of the on-track action was outstanding.
Crowds were also varying, but I doubt any of them took a financial flogging, some did pretty well.
I hope to see more of the same in coming seasons. Truth is, I wouldn’t go to either Auburndale or Bronson on a Saturday night when I have 8 or 10 options in line before them.
But, being the only show in town, I plunked down my cash, drove several hours, and had a blast.
Hopefully some track owners will see some value in trying SOMETHING other than strictly Saturday nights.
